Ok, it was a fairly normal day for me, I just got back from school and was happy playing songs via HLDJ to my friends when suddenly a CIARAN I NEED TO GO ON THE COMPUTER NOW
From my mother, so of course I reluctantly got off my PC
When I asked her why she needed to go on my PC so urgently she said this:
Your sister just told me that she had to eat meat at school
[small]Yes I'm a vegetarian ( well I'm a peskitarian but most people don't know what that is so I just say that )[/small]
A "I really couldn't care less" from me
But then she said that she is going to sue the catering company...
This annoys me somewhat, she's a very intelligent woman but this seems a little bit unnecessary to me
And plus I'm going to have the hassle of journalists coming round to my house and obstructing my day

So, could I get your thoughts on this ?

[small]I'll update if more develops[/small]

EDIT: Ok, HAD is poor terminology, the only choice would be better

EDIT2: Since someone bumped this topic I'll tell the full story ( which I only found out after I made this thread )
There was an OFSTEAD inspection and the catering staff gave them the vegetarian option leaving 7 kids with the meat one
Now my mother went to hell and back trying to contact the people responsible
They didn't get back to her so she is now trying to gain support from Heather Mills Mccartney ( is that her name ? ) to back her up on this... it's either going to be huge or a complete failure

Well... I don't get this, it's not like your sister had to eat meat, she could've just not eaten the meat part, what meal did they offer her instead of a vegetarian one?

Oh, and Peskitarian means you eat fish right? =]

If your sister is a vegetarian too, or rather, peskitarian, then I guess it's wrong that she should have to eat meat at school. However, making a formal complaint and wishing to see the headmaster/mistress or catering staff is fine, that's one thing. Sueing the catering company is just a teensy bit overboard... Okay I lied, it's extremely overboard. It's so overboard that sod Jaws, you'll need a bigger boat just to see her floating in the ocean. Seriously. Sueing the company. Especially in Britain... I despair sometimes of this country, I really do...

Is it Pesk? I always thought it was PesC but maybe that's just because I've never seen it spelled out, and assumed it comes from Pesco

Anyways, it's pretty messed up that they forced her to eat meat, if they did actually force her your mother should definitely take it up with the school board. If they "forced her" by not offering a vegetarian choice, well that's not something to sue over, but she should talk to someone and let them know that there are people who have made the choice not to eat meet attending your school

If that's true then that sucks! But yeah does peskitarian mean you eat fish?
I eat meat but I think I may stop eating beef..just poultry and fish. Idk what that would be called, so I'm using the term "Indian food ideas" to describe it lol

Just as animals should not be forced to be killed and eaten, people should not be forced to eat meat. Sue the school and send the money to an animal rights organisation of your sisters choosing. And yes I´m serious. I´m an animal rights acitivist as well as a gamer, with a sense of humour though.

1. Did your mum tell the school she was vegetarian?
2. Did your sister just refuse to eat her meat and the school not knowing she was vegetarian and the school thought she wasn't eating her lunch therefor they were telling her to eat the meat.
3. Kids always exaggerate.

She had to eat meat? was she forced? if so she might have a case, if not it would be flimsy unless you fall back on the "No vegetarian diet was avaible" Ace.

Why would you bother though, its not like she came crying home about it did she?

Well, they should make things available for vegetarians, but I don't think you can sue them over something like that.

Wow, you mean your sister's school held her down and force fed her meat?

I'd be sueing for that too...

I have to agree, this is going a little overboard. The affront itself was nowhere near directed at vegetarians, and there is little grounds to bring up a case for. I dont know how it usually works but a I would think a judge would throw the case out on the ground that she (your sister) was not forced to eat the meat.

Besides, sueing takes a lot of time and can be costly if you dont gain any reparations. And they are a massive waste of time otherwise.
