Sort of. I usually imagined a blue monkey swinging across lampposts and telephone poles to catch up to me.

... I get the feeling that even though you and I have the same quirk, OP, I'm still a little weirder than you. :p
If you knew me personally you wouldn't say you are weirder than me. Trust me :)

Yes, it's weird and yes, I do. I'm actually a little surprised by the number of us who do this.

I'm inclined to suggest that it may be a by-product of growing up with side-scrolling video games - we're so used to seeing a sprite scrolling with the screen that we mentally project one onto the window pane. Or something.

I'd challenge you to that, but I'm too tired/lazy to do so.

I'll take your word for it. :p

Not too often I'm afraid, although when I do think about such stuff it's along the lines of "war of the worlds" laser beams cutting down trees and whatnot.

All the time, man. Useally I imigine it being Kirby or a girl on a surfboard for some reason.
For me it's normally a slender humanoid figure. I think it might be Spider-man, I dunno. It's been a while since the last time I did it. No long car rides lately, and some times I just enjoy sitting down to philosophize.
A sort of slender man, you say?

Yes, but it's cycling for me. I love riding my bike and when there's loads of traffic, there's nothing better than being able to crank right past it in a high gear.

I pretend that I'm in a Rebel ship heading towards my destination, with an escort of X-Wings around the vehicle.

I just get images in my head of whatever band I happen to be listening to at the time. Chevelle is fantastic for long car trips. Perfect driving music if you like alternative metal.

.....does everybody do this? wow....i'm honestly shocked...Then again, I do it too, but he number of people that seems to do it surprises me.

I imagined that either a slender female with a hover-board (back to the future style) sped alongside us. either that or a guy with a light-cycle (Tron style), or a really really fast horde of zombies, or a ...i can keep doing this but i'm afraid to say the other things which my insane mind cooks up while it's bored.

I still do this, and I'm also 18.

Now I just have to overcome the challenge of making sound effects. (pew, pew, vshoom, vroom, badaboom, ra-ta-tat)
aah insanity...my closest friend.

Im running parkour overtop of the building along the road, or else longboarding down the highway at 100km/h.

I used to imagine it a lot when I was younger, sitting in the back of my dads car, but I've never done it whilst driving... I may start now, though

Holy shit, someone else imagines it? I imagine a being jumping from lampost to lampost along the way and on the cars etc

I really thought I was the only one who did this. Woah, what the hell... haha

I have never actually done that.

Hmm. Gonna have to try it I guess. Could be funny. I'd probably imagine the being fall unexpectedly and imagine the spongebob fish screaming "My leg!" off in the distance.

I'd probably laugh at that.

Normally im driving, so no. I watch the road. Im sensible like that :) But i do allways (when the weather is for it, i live in the cold north) stick my arm out of the window and feel the wind resistance with different hand poses. Dunno, just something to pass the time.

At first, I thought you were insane, but then I thought about and realized that have done that in the past. Usually a stick person jumping across buildings and whatnot.

If there's music playing, I'll also look for moments when objects pass in rhythm with the song.

Kinda like this, but in a car:

And yes, it is always that perfect. Often, groups of hobos will look at me and start singing the chorus.
