Well this gen is coming to a close and it seems the once strong 360 is losing all it's me only games.

With Mass Effect 2 going to the PlayStation and it large AAA game like God of War. Is this it for 360 to go out with not a roar but a wimper. I myself will keep the 360 simply becuase I already own it. Unless it RR me again then not so much.
Argh... Exclusives... They annoy me whenever I hear them mentioned. The 360 still has better MP (on account of having to pay for it, I guess) and will live through that. Other than that I don't think it had much to offer in the first place in the way of single player, but its certainly not going to die. At least I don't believe so.

Fable 3's coming out soon, though I think I heard it was for PC too? Not a clue.

Edit: Xbox also has better DLC games from what I've seen.

The exact same thing was said when the 360 started getting games that were previously PlayStation exclusive. Both systems are great, and for their own reasons. One is NOT better then the other, nor is either dying out anytime soon. This Gen of consoles is not coming to a close, hell, they are just releasing new "motion detection technology" for said systems.

Consoles will come and go, but whiners will remain forever.

How's that for a first post.
lol welcome always nice to have someone with brains join the community:)

OT: uhm PS3 is getting ME 2 but the 360 had it for what a year before hand? and the origenal(i know bioware will make sure PS3 users get a good begining in ME 2 to make up for this so PS3 people dont worry:)plus the fact that mass effect 3 is suposed to come out first on the 360 by 3 months. so the title game you used is a very bad example and id also like to point out that square has signed on to do games for the 360 witch means all the final fantisy games will also come out for the 360 and lets not forget GTA games are so much better on the 360 now with the exclusive content:)

Are you stupid? If anything, the systems barley hit the half way point.
A console generation typically lasts 5 years and at this point we are almost at the 5 year mark. So why would someone be stupid for thinking that this gen is coming to a close?
Sorry if that came out sounding harsh. I know a console generation typically lasts about 5 years, but this generation isn't exactly typical. TVs haven't really gotten any more HD since the last gen came out, so theres no need to improve the actual hardware. That is, unless you count 3dtvs, but that probably wont catch on to the mainstream for the next 5 years or so (and PS3 won't even need a hardware update then). But really the biggest reason is that these consoles are the first ones that are connected to the internet en masse. That allows companies to update the system regularly and ultimately increase their lifespan considerably.

That being said, companies loose money on the consoles themselves so it's doubtful that they would release a new system without the need to.

I'm expecting at least 3-5 more years of the Xbox 360.
The technology is just fine and with Kinect (as much as I hate it) it'll probably have a couple more years extended on to that.

Then again, I could be completely wrong, so...

Well Escapist, it appears this gen of computers is coming to an end and we will all be outfitted with either a Mac brain implant or a Microsoft implant and we will all be upgraded with cybernetic combat skins and the whole world will become a huge MMOFPSRPG. Microsoft is done because Mac rules.>_>

OP that is how ridiculous you sound. Making all sorts of shit up and spewing it off as fact. I think what will happen in the current gen of consoles is that there will be a steady decline in exclusives and the two systems will become quite evenly matched. Also what I hope for is to have cross console servers for online games. Like i could play Red Dead with my buddy who has it on PS3, but that kind of cooperation would never happen between Microsoft or anyone.

I was going to say, i work in a mixture of multimedia retail and customer services and the xbox is doing quite a bit better than the PS3, i did like the tactic sony laid down of releasing Move around the same time as Halo: Reach. quite a smart retail strategy.

I doubt it. Bethesda wants to make Brink a long running franchise, and Microsoft are already trying to make the Brink franchise a 360 exclusive. If that goes through I think the 360 will live on good and proper.

I don't think so. The 360 still has the Halo series, Gears of War series, the original Mass Effect and Dead Rising games, the Halo series, the Dead or Alive series, the Crackdown series, the Fable series, as well as tons of exclusive arcade titles such as 'Splosion Man, Shadow Complex, Geometry Wars, Risk Factions, and more.

Yeah, the 360 has lost a few exclusives, but so has the PS3 (FF13, MGS: Rising, exc). I'd say that statement is just as valid for Sony as it is for Microsoft.

Also, I don't think it's accurate to say that the generation is "Coming to a close". We've still got at least a year and a half before the new consoles come out, and I'm guessing even that's being optimistic.

lol no where close, Halo Reach just came out and my friends who were glued to Halo 3 since its release have now scrambled over to it with open arms, and seeing as they are just as happy with Reach they most likely will be glued to it for the next 2+ years. Aslong as the xbox comes out with another Halo game in about 3 years it will be fine until atleast the next game consoles are created (Ebox not included).

I am getting a little worred about the PS3 though, I recently bought another PS3 but realized soon afterward that I havent seen too many games coming out in the future for it (exclusively that is) that I'm interested in. Resistance 3 and Zone Of Ender 3 need to get here fast =(
