You know what I'm talkin about here right? That pop or crack in your neck when you turn your head a certain way. Those little snapping sounds when you stretch your arms. Those BIG snapping sounds when you stretch and rotate your back after sitting slumped in front of a video game for hours.
How many of you do it intentionally? How many of you enjoy it? How many are appalled by it?
I've read the reason why is feels so good is that your joints release endorphins when you crack them. Which is why it's so hard to stop doing it once you've started.
On a side note, my chiropractor says the correct and safe way to crack your back is to lay on your back on the floor. Legs straight, shoulders flat. Keeping one leg straight, bend your other leg and bring it over to the side over your straight leg. Remember to keep your leg straight and your shoulders touching the floor. Repeat with the other leg. This stretches the joints to the point they pop while supporting them so they don't get over extended and nothing gets thrown out of place.
I've seen people just stand there and swing their torso around to work the kinks out of their back. Those people are in for a world of pain one day.
