I disagree that 90% of women lie and say they want nice guys when they don't. I can say with 100% certainty that I would pick the manly man any day of the week. I mean, I'm already a chick. I don't want to date one. But that's just my personal opinion.
I think that the whole nice boy/bad boy (or "manly man"/"sweet guy") dichotomy is a load of bullshit anyway. I mean, I've been hurt by "nice boys" just as much as I've been hurt by "bad boys." I've found that the only difference is that the "bad boys" are at least up front about the fact that they're going to hurt you in the end. I appreciate the lack of pretense.

to me a manly man is someone who can be strong when needed (not muscular, strong) but is also comfortable enough to be sensitive at the right time.

However, I feel I must point out that I never claimed any universal rules either. General trends, which I feel are accurate within a certain (fairly small) margin of error, are all I ever stated.
