I'm not a lady, but EVERY girl I have ever asked has said they dislike manly men, they like cute guys. I think it's just the sluts that like manly men. Why do you think James Bond gets laid so much?
I think I will second that.

But I cannot be either of those. I am a cold, serious person who see everything in a dark tone. It's probably because alexithymia. But they still find me like a nice person.

And while all the 'nice guys' sit around bitching how all the hot birds won't give them the time of day and only date arseholes they're usually ignoring the 'plainer looking' but much cooler to be with birds. Fucking hypocrits.

I disagree that 90% of women lie and say they want nice guys when they don't. I can say with 100% certainty that I would pick the manly man any day of the week. I mean, I'm already a chick. I don't want to date one. But that's just my personal opinion.

I think that the whole nice boy/bad boy (or "manly man"/"sweet guy") dichotomy is a load of bullshit anyway. I mean, I've been hurt by "nice boys" just as much as I've been hurt by "bad boys." I've found that the only difference is that the "bad boys" are at least up front about the fact that they're going to hurt you in the end. I appreciate the lack of pretense.

This is a false dichotomy.
this is very true

I would say that I am a manly man, I enjoy guns and computers and Id on't mind looking at a car or two, but I also live to make my girl happy and that means being sensitive to waht she is thinking.

don't imply that manly means douchebag, because in my opinion that is the polar opposite of what a manly man is.

to me a manly man is someone who can be strong when needed (not muscular, strong) but is also comfortable enough to be sensitive at the right time.

like I said I'm a manly man, but I'm also a good guy, how you portray yourself is more important than what you like or your figure.

The plural of 'anecdote' is not 'data'.
Yes, actually, it is. See, that's how you get data. Lots of examples. Science calls that testing.

Yes but do you expect the useless bags of scrotal sweat to admit to their own personal failings or continue to blame others for their situation? It's always someone else's fault.

Examples are not the same as anecdotes.
True, but now that you mention it, I don't ever recall giving a single anecdote. I have numerous examples from my life, yet not a single story have I told. Funny, that.

I want a man who doesn't pretend he's super sweet to get tail and then complains that all women are whores because he doesn't get any.

*ahem*

Just be yourself and if they don't like you, then why bother with them?

Yes but, while more accurate, 'Personal Experience Is Not A Universal Rule' lacks pithiness and less likely to send people scurrying for wiki (which is always a bonus).

Crazy talk! Why, it has the stench of accepting others as REAL PEOPLE rather than problems to be solved!

edit to add:
I want a man who doesn't pretend he's super sweet to get tail and then complains that all women are whores because he doesn't get any.
That's why I act like a complete prick. When I don't get any I know exactly who is to blame...

... those fucking 'nice guys' and their raising women's expectations of how they should be treated.

umm sure considering that doesn't make any sense.

what I was trying to say is that I agree that his statement is a false dichotomy it's an either or, being that either you are a good guy, or a manly man and the reality is that there is no one way to classify people, because there aren't really two of any one person anywhere.

I like a combination. :D
Overly manly guys are annoying, and it's just weird with a really sweet dude...

On a side note, it's been scientifically proven that women like "bad boys" if that tells you anything.

However, I feel I must point out that I never claimed any universal rules either. General trends, which I feel are accurate within a certain (fairly small) margin of error, are all I ever stated. If we're not allowed to comment on observations of general trends we've gained from personal experience, I'm afraid conversation will be rather lacking.

Ha!
I don't want a man to grovel, it's just unappealing. Complete prick is a bit to far, though. I think I'll just say to hell with this whole relationship thing and just use men for their bodies.

Funny, I make it a point to act like a nice guy, because when I try to act like a complete prick I practically have to beat the women off with a stick, and I've given up on women. They're completely awesome until you try to have a relationship with them. Then they go insane.
