I have both. My Laptop is for internet surfing, media-related things (i.e music), and school work. My desktop, the one that hates the idea of fun, is my gaming machine. If i had to have a preference, id probably pick laptop, only because of how portable it is, and how they are becoming close to as powerful as a desktop. Other wise desktop for the win.

I'm currently on my netbook, being a student I have a real love of my little netbook and my PC has inexplicably crappy wireless reception.
Just saw your most here, your PC has crap wireless? Mine too. I don't know what the hell is wrong with it. 80-120KB/ps download speed. I was on my laptop and netbook downstairs downloading some new drivers and got a minimum speed of 500KB/ps. Even though I was much furthur away from my router.

I don't get it. Roll on student loan so I can get more hardware.

On topic,

I love my netbook. It's like having 10 inches of wonderful freedom...

My laptop is amazing because I can do all my surfing, mmoing and other gaming and my uni work in bed.

I love my desktop because of the sheer power the thing has, a laptop just can't compare, but I sometimes resent having to sit in the same place. I wanna drag it over to my bed.

I'm on my laptop at the moment as my PC is packed away for the journey I will soon undertake.

*looks at empty boxes*

I need to keep packing...

Laptop.

Mine is just as powerful as any PC and it costs more than my car. I love saying that to people.

Also, one can't go wrong with the portable aspect of laptops.

Right now a desktop, but I prefer my laptop. Only issue is my router went katputzen recently (a capacitor popped), so I am stuck on the desktop until it gets fixed.
