Now, I spend a LOT of my time on the Escapist. And I spend a lot of that time reading threads. However, as you may notice my post count is fairly low. This is because I have what I like to call Late-Poster-Anxiety. I will very rarely post in any thread with more than 3 or so pages, because I figure that no-one will see my post and what's the point of posting if no-one reads it?

So, I want to know, how many of you feel this way?

I just figure what I am going to say has been said already after a few pages.

It seems you're doing it wrong. If you hate posting late in threads, you post first in threads. Gets your post count up pretty high...

I do the same thing. Because if I post later, then often you feel like no-one notices it.

I went with "I never post" but it isn't entirely true, I've posted 160some times. I just usually don't feel the need to post since what I have to say has been said already or I just can't think of anything worth adding.

I just post normally whenever I want to on whatever threads I want to post on.

I have never once cared about my post count or tried to raise it.

No. That is silly.
The only thing that puts me off longer threads is the prospect of having to read through them.
I refuse to ever just skip out on the whole thread just to post my stupid worthless opinion. Everyone else already does plenty of that.

Sometimes, but I like to type stuff all the time so it really isn't that much of a problem. If someone reads it that cool, if not well you can't win them all.

No, not really. I only post if I can be bothered to, so it doesn't really matter how many pages there are in a thread. If I have an opinion to give, and I can be arsed to type it up and hit post, then I do.

And then we mock them behind their backs for being front page whores.

And so does getting sucked into forum games.

Oh lawdy, does that rack up your post count

(200 in one day)

OT: Meh. Kind of. I like to be first though so everyone notices me!

NOTICE ME!

Alternatively, user groups. I've gotten nearly a thousand in a single day before. Multiple, active user groups for more posts.

Post count is oh-so meaningless...

OCD, so I try to make every post perfect in my eyes. Which is why I rarely post, cause I try to make it perfect and then give up when I can't.

Yes, yes. Extra points for dignified laughter.

I just dont like to cause i figure i'll repeat someone. Or missing something important, like the OT admitting something their said was wrong, or changing their point and then just feel dumb. But i usually still do if i feel strongly enough to post.

I will gladly yammer on whether someone's listening or not. Because that's how I roll after OVER NINE THOUSAND posts.

yeah, in fact, most of the actually celebrities normally had less than 10k, right?

so it kind of works against you, does it not...
I stopped keeping track of who was a 'celebrity' or not a while ago. Apparently I became one at some point, but doubt that still stands.

Post count doesn't really do much except make newer users think you're more awesome for one reason or the other, really.

it's kind of a sign of someone who knows his/her way around, someone who knows what is going on or not.

not necessarily true, but, you know.
I suppose so. I guess the Escapist just has a larger normal posting range. Considering users can rack up 5k in about a week, it's the numbers that are idiotically high that show actual experience.

5k in a week? After almost a year I have only gotten 3k and I am a pretty frequent poster. It's kind of a scary thought to imagine myself in front of my computer all day just chatting it up on the escapist >.<
It took me a full year to hit 1k. I kind of stepped up the pace after that.

If i want to vent an opinion i will despite the pages. Else i don't really bother.
Unless it's a fun forum game i won't read an entire thread anyway
