On some level, Philip Pullman did it, and that worked fucking brilliantly..IanBrazen said:OK...
Angels being the bad guys sounds pretty cool, but making God the bad guy just sounds stupid.
It doesn't matter if you believe in God or not for this work of fiction, that wont come into play for this movie so don't any of you dare try and turn this into a religious argument.
In the christian religion, God is all powerful and all knowing, so If he wanted to destroy us, he could just snap his fingers and all of us would be dead, and if he knew he was going to hate what we have become he wouldn't have made the earth in the first place.
I would be kinder to the trailer if instead of God being the bad guy, maybe it was a arch angel instead, and it could have been like a second rebellion, now that would be cool.
Im not sure if anyone can make God into a bad guy, and it seem credible.
What if I turn the Prophet Buddha into a rapist, and murderer with Buddhism being a secret cult that follows his evil ways?
Sure It would be just as ballsy as their story, and It could be written by the best, but it would never fly.
Still I have to give them credit for trying, because I already know controversy is going to follow this movie like the plague (all 10 of em) and they had to already know that people would get pissed off by it.
so what do y'all think?
PS
No flaming, K!
Why do all the angels look evil? wouldn't be more creepy if they looked majestic while murdering people.
Why do angels need guns when they have swords of holy might?
Why is it so funny to her that she doesn't own a car, what does that have to do with anything!?
Did anyone else laugh at spider granny?
what do you mean. EXPLAIN YOURSELF SIR.Lexodus said:On some level, Philip Pullman did it, and that worked fucking brilliantly..
I mean the whole 'God as the enemy' angle. Sorry for not snipping :SIanBrazen said:what do you mean. EXPLAIN YOURSELF SIR.Lexodus said:On some level, Philip Pullman did it, and that worked fucking brilliantly..
jk
but seriously do you mean a different movie?
Excuse me if im just being stupid and not getting what your saying.
Yeah, usually something like that would spark some curiosity in me but not this time. I'l wait until it's on HBO or iTunes.Furburt said:I saw the poster of the angel with the MP5 and just said 'nope, fuck that'
Rarely has that happened.
well excuse me all to hell.Aby_Z said:Haha. hhaa haa haaa... Boy, you're funny. The CG in that movie looks horrible. It looked too fake for me several months ago, when I first trailer during District 9. The movie looks just plain bad and it seems like an overdone concept somehow...
It doesn't look interesting to me at all. And how God can ever be considered the bad guy? Oh ho ho... Well, simply put, 'bad' and 'good' can only be defined in conjunction to either word. You cannot define 'good' without also defining 'bad', as they both relate heavily towards each other. To put that in perspective, we all consider Hitler to be 'bad' because he killed lots of people and wanted to take over the world by force. Hitler saw himself to be 'good' because he wanted to unify the world into a single, perfect race, which would end racism and many other problems we face today. God can be seen as Evil using the exact transparency of the definitions of 'good' and 'bad'.

This movie looks like it could be awesomely fun just through sheer force of will. Angels with machine guns is inherently kick-ass, I am determined to enjoy this film. It could be terrible. The script could be garbage and the action sucky (although Bettany has an amazing voice) and I will love this film. I will force myself if I have to, but I WILL enjoy this.Nick Bounty said:I think it will be so bad that it will be mediocre at best. I love cheesy movies.
