I mean it's cake in rectangle form...Then again, I'm biased because EVERY brownie I've eaten is dry and reminds me of chalk

Actually, brownies that are made correctly are not like cake. Real brownies are chewy and kind of gooey. Since the only brownies you have ever had are dry, I can certainly understand how you feel about them, but I do suggest that you embark on a quest for a real brownie.
