This will probably star ta flame war, but I think Lost suckes ass, it has terrable acting and it has the "reality" staple which automaticaly ruinins it for me.

THIS IS MY OPINION.

Well, as we all know, when you are stating your opinion online, you are actually stating fact to all the fanboys...

Anyway, I only watched season 1 when they had it on G4, but then lost interest. But I saw a few of the later episodes, and I think they were just pulling ideas out of a hat.

I think the problem is with JJ Abrahms. He gives them an idea, works on it for a few seasons before getting bored and moving on to something else (Cloverfield) and leaving the rest of the writers to figure out what the hell he was thinking.

They said from the end of Season 3 that it would last until the end of Season 6, which is the next (and last) one. That's it. They know exactly what they're doing. Just because we don't is beside the point, that's the whole purpose of the show. They do know. They have stated that for at least two years. This is just going to end in a flame war over something that already was answered ages ago.

They were pulling stuff out of their asses for a little bit, but they've had a clearly defined goal for some time now.

... aaaand I was ninja'd. Damn.

EDIT:

I'm pretty sure Abrams is still working on Lost... plus, rumors abound of a connection between Lost and Cloverfield.

I pretty much loved Lost from the off. I seem to remember Cuse & Lindelhof saying that they always knew what the end was gonna be, they just didn't know how they were gonna get there.

They were originally aiming for 7-8 seasons or something ridiculous like that. Thankfully they've decided to call it a day sooner than later.

They wrote a beginning, then decided to make the rest up as they went along.

So no, they don't know what they are doing.

I think that they were meandering a bit in the middle of season three, but it really picked up again with the finale and everything since.

I saw a summary of season one through five a while back.

I couldn't follow anything of it. Some people crashed on an island, that's all I know.

If you think this needs spoilers, you shouldn't be on a Lost-thread.

Honestly I think anyone who still thinks the writers have no idea what they're doing simply arn't paying attention.

Early on it looked like they where just grabbing stuff out of thin air, but as the series has gone, all the loose knots have begun to tie together.

The problem is that this creates even more loose ends, resulting in a cataclismic explosion of confusion that folds together into a neat little package of pondering brillance with a red herring on top.

Personally I think it's the best show there's ever been on tv.

A fun little game for everyone who has stopped watching lost; when the final episode hits we all watch it to see if we do learn what is going on.

They've released a video of the last scene, so they know exactly where they're going.

i think they basically make up shit as they go along, i gave up watching after a black cloud came into things, and then he had to go and kill the black guy, i really liked him.

Its like they throw darts at a dart board with ideas on paper stuck on, see kids, despite the Myths, drugs dont improve story telling.

The Lost team keep dropping hints to some relevent story line but its utter crap, they'll just try and tie it together as best they can with Duck tape, what is with the island, is it a research centre mystic island, heaven, or the gateway to heaven? make up your fucking minds.

though i have to admit its so utterly confussing you feel like you have to watch it so you get that "OOOOOHHHHHH OF COURSE!" feeling before you flick the channel to babe watch or will and grace.

Well the show is set to end after 1 more season, so I think they know what they are doing. I really like the show, I just hope they can wrap everything up in the next season.

I think that they do, there are even hints in the title of the first episode of the next season (called LA X)
