Poll: LOTRO

A few pages back we had a 4 page thread going about LOTRO going f2p. Not that I'm preaching about using the search bar (because I hate it when people do that) but we all came to the consensus that Crickhollow was going to be the escapist server of choice. I can't say for certain whether anyone has set up the fellowship yet, however as my download got corrupted so I'm off to download another 10 gigs.

Pretty excited about that.

I dont like MMOs since they all try to copy WOW, I know that APB sucked but at least they tried something new

If you for some reason really believe WoW is original even in the slightest then I laugh in your general direction, HAH!

OT: Yes. I've been wanting to try LOTRO for awhile now and just haven't had the money to support another MMO habit.

There's a few of us on there now, we've got a group setup as well. Haven't managed to get a kinship (guild) up yet because of how it works. We need 8 people in it within 24 hours of it being made or it gets disbanded.

So yeah, anyone who's interested in playing it, join the group, get in contact with people and we'll get things moving.

Fantastic. Glad you replied so I know who to get in touch with. A good friend of mine is already playing on that server and I told him about the eventual escapist group. Look him up under the name Thunderfury. He might be on before I am to help with the fellowship. Tell him Graham sent ya.

No, I was told it's a lot like WoW in terms of gameplay. WoW was very boring to me. People say the community is good, but that means nothing to me since I don't play games to socialize.

If you start a trial account on the EU servers the toon won't get deleted when it goes over to F2P.

lol, no, the game that tried something originial (in a way) was APB. It wasnt a fantasy world and the way it was played was diferent. I know that APB isnt the best MMO out there but it is one of the few who had the balls to try

I played it before it was free and enjoyed it. I downloaded it now and created an account and I'll see if everything works and play a bit and if I have time I think I'll play it some.

Yeah, make sure you get the EU client though. It will update when F2P comes.

Hmm I've actually never even heard of APB. I'm gonna have to sneak a peek at that now. To Google!

I've tried twice now to do the "free trial" thing, and both times it kept crashing before I actually got to play.

Just started playing recently and I am enjoying the game. But I made my guy on Crickhollow, first one that popped up.

Yup. I played it on and off before, since beta. I'm a founder or whatever. Just hopped back on tonight and regrouped with my old kin. Looks like more fun times ahead in the RP world.
