* checked the searchbar the last thing on this was a couple months ago.

for those of you who dont know what lucid dreaming is, its when your dreaming but you become aware that your dreaming, and then you can basically do what ever you want and play god in your own little reality. its really cool actually.

but can you lucid dream?

and another question, how real do you think dreams weather you are lucid dreaming or not?

I can become aware that I'm dreaming, but then everything starts going nuts like I teared a hole the in fabric of space and time.
Either that or the dream becomes insanely realistic when I find out.

i can't remeber my dreams about 95% of the time. but i daydream a lot. i tend to freestyle it, just watch and see where it goes, i could change it but don't alwways want to. i have a personal univrse for when i feel like being in control, or creating something.

My lucid dreams are fucked up really, I always wake up thinking "Did that just happen?" The thing is I know I'm dreaming, but I never get this "lets play god" thing you're talking about... So I dunno what's gong on there.

I'm pretty sure lucid dreaming is possible. You just have to know what not to do in order to keep yourself asleep.

Absolutely. As soon as you do anything that strays from the regular dream pattern, like attacking somebody or attempting to "conjure" something by thinking about it, the dream starts to deteriorate quite rapidly.

It's not uncommon for me to have the feeling of almost unlimited power in the dream realm, but I don't think I've even mentally taken advantage of it to the degree of treating my dream realm like a sandbox if that's what you mean by a lucid dream.

I think the wildest thing is sharing a dream with another person!
As a psychology student it's processes like that which make me think that we still have A LOT to learn about the brain's potential abilities.

ive done it once. i got so excited in the dream and i started to try to do ridiculous things. i tried to start flying, and i did, but then i woke up because i got too excited and/or the experience was too foreign that my brain couldn't replicate it.

I do it every once in a while and now can tell I'm in a dream because when I'm running I use my hands to push off of the ground each time. Then I stop and control everything.

Lucid dreaming is possible but rare. It occurs most often when you go back to sleep right after waking up.

I've had a semi-lucid dream before, I was some sort of smurf knight and I was leaping around a giant dining room fighting some giant. It was awesome. I couldn't control it completely but I was controlling my movements.

I did it only once. I panicked and ran myself over with a truck (don't ask how that works...)

Most of the time when I realize I'm dreaming I wake up...

I haven't yet but I want to lucid dream. Every time I do become self aware I wake up, so I can't take advantage of the situation.

Yea, it can. I remember knowing it was a dream, pulled out a calculator, and Divided by Zero. The answer was "42", then the universe imploded. I sat in total empty-ness before I managed to wake my self.
dude what if that is the real answer?

Oh hellz yeah, halfway through a dream if I don't like something I'll just make something else happen :D
slightly off topic: when I have a nightmare, I'll just lie back down and daydream with my eyes closed, that way I can change the things that scared me, so it's less scary afterwards xD

I sometimes lucid dream by accident when I take ages to drift off to sleep, it can be frightening or amazing depending on whether you are expecting it or not.
