I (almost) never tell outright lies, apart from the little white lies every social person tells every now and then. I mean, I do lie. Everyone does. But when it comes to the big things, the important things, the things I care about... I often feel that lying about them would be a betrayal to myself.
On the other hand, I tend to be a bit naive about people lying to me. Unless I've got a good reason to believe otherwise, I always assume that the person I'm talking to is telling (their version of) the truth.
Telling the truth in a way that suits my interests... yeah, I do that
all the time. It's amazing how the way you say something can have a lot more effect than what you're actually saying.
It's funny, now that I think about it. I actually do this a lot less when I'm online with strangers. Guess that shows how much I don't care about you mindless masses out there.
