So up until recently when activision decided to start being jerks everyone hated EA, and one of the main reasons for this hate was the Madden franchise; but how many of you have actually played Madden?

I enjoy the Madden games, although since I got Madden '09, I don't plan on buying another one for a few more years. Same goes for any of my other sports games.

Madden is the king of pro-football gaming and as such should feel a huge demand to increase the gaming experience with every product. Unfortunately, that is rarely the case. Usually it's just updated rosters more than anything else, which in my opinion should have just been included in a patch, not a new game.

I do have to say that Madden 2010 is a good, solid game.

I'm not a big fan of sports games at all but I played one round a friend a few years back on the original Xbox and it was quite fun, I doubt I'd ever buy one though.

Not too big a fan of sports games in general, but occasionally I'll pick up an old copy used for a few $ and play it for a coupla hours. Usually lose interest in it after 4-5 hours, but I get some easy points and cheap entertainment, so it's all good. That said I think it's ridiculous some people buy these new at full price every year considering they're all the same, but to each his own.

My dad and I love playing against eachother in Madden. our matches are always down to the wire and very fun but outside of our matches neither of us ever play it.

Not a big fan of sports games, but as an objective observer i'd say that the franchise is being product raped into the ground. A new one every year? Why? So i can play with the new seasons stats and roster? Update or DLC would make that pointless. But of course why issue a DlC when you can make another 60 bucks!!! Fuck you madden!!!! (maniacal laughter)

I really don't think (or know how) EA is abusing the Madden franchise. You would be stupid to NOT release a Madden every year. And from a consumer standpoint, it seems logical to me to release a new football game every year. People complain that they're just releasing the same game every year, but it's FOOTBALL. The only areas I think EA can improve on are graphics and features, which they're done a reasonably good job on.

Anyways, I think only the most avid Madden fans buy the new version every year, while the rest of us renew every 3-4 years (which is what I do).

I haven't played it, but it looks like fun if you like American Football.

I find most sports games quite fun, even if I don't follow the sport.

EA always milks franchises to the bone.

I played Madden 0-somethingratherthan another
about 4 or 5 years ago at a friends house.
It was okay, but not something I would want to pay 50 dollars for year-after-year.

I'm pretty much the same way. If I want to watch football, I'll catch the Bills game on TV.

Added a "I don't like sports games as the point of games is to be able to do things you couldn't normally do; if you want to play football go outside" option.
