I believe we are an evolutionary product of bacteria and by that logic in 1000 years we will have superpowers

That is part of my belief system, yes.
I have to say, that is unusual. However, I believe you both would want to vote for being God's creation because in the end he seems to be the end-all "creator" in your minds.

Also, please, don't feel the need to be shy about what you believe (like Zohrra's post). No one will attack your beliefs, unless of course that person is some kind of foolish moron, in which case who cares what (s)he said.

Also also, Mick Foley has no bearing on this topic. Though he does have an awesome sock. Maybe the key to man's existence is in it? That would make sense, considering what I keep in my socks.

Sorry I just see a lot of people going on about Religion being a bad thing around here, I am usually more open about my beliefs, I'm a Jehovah's Witness and I personally find it quite logical from what I've learnt both from others in the religion and personal research, as well as beliefs I had picked up beforehand just slotting into place with the religion.

Wait, should this be in the politics/religion forum? Also, It has little discussion value. Oh and man is only a figment of his own imagination.

A pathetic creature of meat and bone, panting and sweating as you run though my corridors...

Yeah I have a plan for this thread after I get some numbers on the poll. And at this point it does seem like a religious discussion, just because religion is involved, but that's not the intent in the end.

I don't consider God's Creation and Evolution's Creation to be Mutually exclusive.

I am of the Opinion we're god's Creation through Evolution.

I see this ending well.

In any case - a miserable pile of secrets.

Religion has no answers that are empirical, and science is by no mean advanced enough to look back in time to "observe," the answer. All we have is indirect evidence, which I am naturally skeptical of when assessing the validity of a claim.

Considering the whole Creationists vs. Atheists argument, not many people realise this.

On Topic, the whole Disease/Virus thing always annoyed me. I think it's because viruses are the least lively liform one the planet, and comparein anything made of more that one Cell to one os a virus is extremy inaccurate.

I'm glad to see somone actually tried with their joke poll option.

Not really, since man created god.

Also, man did NOT create evolution. Evolution has been going on for far longer than man has ever been able to reason. Believing in evolution is like believing in the moon. It's a fact that it is there, and has affected our planet since formation. Even if you try to disbelieve in the moon, it won't actually make the moon go away.

Mankind is OK, but I preferred Cactus Jack.

In all seriousness, I think mankind is probably God's evolved creation.

Man kind in my eyes is a spiritual being trapped in a material body in a material world and is forced to enslave himself to the material while eventually forgetting or going completely through life without knowing or accepting his spiritual nature. I don't believe this philosophy falls into any particuler religion so I can also say man is also a product of evolution, which is true. Is man any good? You'll find devils as well as angels amongst us so nobody can say we are all great or terrible.

Edit: actually, confusious (probabbly spelled wrong but who cares?) once said the nature of man was inherently good because if any man were to walk by and witness a small child about to fall into a well he would instinctually rush to save the child from falling without thought of reward or consiquence. But my philosophy is if this is true then it's the world which corrupts man.
Sounds like Gnosticism to me.

OT: Viruses are the product of evolution too, so I'm going with those two. I think all organic life merely exists as a catalyst for mineral evolution, e.g. silicon never would be able to achieve near-sentience without the apes to help it. Like Carlin said, "We were put on this earth to make plastic. Once we all die, it will be earth+plastic-just like it was meant to be."
