Soldier, because that's what my savedgame import will setmy class to, I'm sure. If it doesn't. maybe Infiltrator.

edit - not Infiltrator, but Sentinel. Tech + Biotics = Oober.

I'm undecided.

The soldier fitted perfectly for me in the first game but since the new classes have more variety I might try those out instead.
The engineer and vanguard look awesome.

No, the saved game import only records your decisions, you can change your looks and class at the start.

No, because Gears is shit. Mass Effect is *the* shit. Big difference.

Maybe someone can answer something...

While I loved the vanguard class from ME1, I'm not sure that the new "charge" move is for me... the one thing I didn't enjoy about playing it through the first time was how little damage you could take in combat.. it didnt take much for enemies to reduce my shields to nothing in a firefight, often while I was moving towards cover, and my ability to react to fast moving enemies was severely limited in some environments. What made it easier was unlocking other weapons such as the sniper rifle and the assault rifle.

Have they stated if we can carry over those unlocked abilities to the new game? Because if we don't I think I might go with soldier this time out.

After careful deliberation, I've decided to go with the infiltrator. I will go with the soldier afterwards, though.

They're using a form of plot-convenient forgetfulness so that players can pick new classes and it still make sense that Shepard has completely re-specialised. Unfortunately this means that none of your skills will be carried over.

Personally I think that the Vanguard's charge is all kinds of awesome, maybe because I've been playing lots of Demo-knight in TF2, and can't wait to pick it up again where I left off.

No. You get extra skill points for each 10 levels after and including level 40, but actual skills do not carry over because there's so many new ones.

Since you mentioned how you dislike how little damage you could take, however, you may want to go Sentinel because of their Tech Armor (watch the video in the OP).

I chose Infiltrator last time and maxed out my pistol skills, barely touching my sniper skills. Given my inclination toward pistol wielding I might change class in ME2.

Engineer, However, I won't be using a lousy pistol, I believe I used a sniper rifle in the last game.

I'll either be Soldier, because I'm boring and I like blowing shit up, or a Infiltrator...

Because I like ganking people with sniper rifles.

I'm gonna start with the infiltrator since that's what my first character was in Mass Effect 1. I really don't care about invisibility though. I'm pretty sure that it's gonna be one of those abilities where it just sits there while I forget to use it. After that the vanguard (or whatever the combat/biotic is) and then the engineer (gonna be annoying playing it in ME1 though).
