Poll: Mass Effect 2: Which class?

I've finally gotten Mass Effect 2, and I'm nearing completion of Mass Effect 1 using a Vanguard [currently level 48, annoyingly Paragon].

I plan to import the character, but I read in the manual that you can basically change everything about Mr/s Shepard.
What class should I go for? I've cleared the game before using an Infiltrator, but I find that the Biotic abilities are hilariously satisfying to use.
However, the Engineer, Sentinel and Infiltrator in ME2 also look like a heap of fun, as well as adding some variety.

Should I just stick with my Vanguard? Or maybe go for an Adept?

This is in terms of fun. What will give me the best jollies, tossing the enemy around, incapacitating it or some kind of in-between?

I still have the endgame to finish in ME1, so feel free to flood me with your sage advice. Just make sure said advice has no spoilers.

SENTINEL IS THE BEST. Seriously, the biotics/tech powers work differently in me2 than in me1. You will thank your stars that you have both types on your MC once you start up. I couldn't imagine playing that game as anything but a sentinel.

My first class was a infiltrator in both ME1 and ME2.
But lately I've been playing through ME1 on veteran as a Vanguard and a Soldier.

I voted vanguard, since they're fun to play in ME2 in my opinion.

You want to go Vanguard, no question. The Vanguard's special biotic charge ability will give you all sorts of jollies-- nothing quite as satisfying as tele-tackling enemies and then blasting them apart with a shotgun in slow motion. Plus you have access to Shockwave, which I spam like mad and send enemies flying around like rag dolls.

I went with soldier in ME2. I think I was a Sentinel (it was the tech/soldier) in my first ME1 playthrough, but I don't think it was a very balanced class, as you could only use the shotgun and pistol.

I find riddling the enemies bodies with incendiary ammo using an assault riffle extremely satisfying.

But if you choosing between tech or biotics, definately go for biotics. There's less strategy and more beating the ever-loving crap out of everyone in your way.

Adept all the way. With biotics, you don't even need guns, but you can still use pistols, SMGs, and whichever one you choose
on the Collector ship.

I first played through ME as an adept, which was pretty hard, then when I lost that save and got ME2, I replayed it as a soldier.
But in ME2 the soldier isnt the invincible badass he was by the end of ME1, which was a bit annoying.

Chain linking immunity with 40+ damage reduction 430+ shield armour, regenerating health and an assault rifle that never overheated... I was more powerful out of the mako then I was in it.

Shockwave is one of the most useful abilities ever, later on. If you have heavy shockwave when you come up against large numbers of husks (which you most definitely will), there is nothing to fear. It shatters them in their tracks.

biotics are ass in the second game, the first game they where fucking awsome...
van guard however is still fucking awsome due to the fact shotgun 2 face is still a winning combination
sniper rifles are 100x better then they where in the 1st one
tec abilitys own
any power u can use at an enermy while hes got deffensis up is mega usefull. trust me...
all the classes work just fine cos you can use ure party members abilitys to compansate, but rember there so dumb you will probibly have to put them down for there own safty...

I carried over my soldier from ME1, and got a fuckton of bonus stuff for doing so. Playing a soldier made the game more fun for me, it allowed me to deal with direct damage-dealing and bring a more mixed team along. I generally took Jack as a biotic, along with an engineer type - often Mordin. I got to mix it up and try more things by using my teammate's powers, while still being able to use almost every weapon and give a lot of ass.

first time i played as engineer and did it slowly then i tried vanguard for something different but it is stupid trying to play close combat on this game so i tried infiltrator and destroyed everything because the snipers are so OP to be honest i don't know why you would ever use anything else in the game.

In ME1, my first playthrough was an engineer, and it was my favorite. The overcharge ability was basically a necessity to beat the game, and controlling that with my MC was helpful. The AI are smart enough to use the biotics well without directions and any of the AI can shoot. Haven't played ME2 yet, but I plan on using an engineer again.

I'm giving soldier a miss. If I want that kind of gameplay [which I don't], I'll pick up Gears of Two and Lynch.

Should I play it on Veteran? Played with Normal difficulty so far, but I'd like to make this one last and give myself a challenge. Keep in mind that I'm fairly crap at games.
