I quite enjoyed the extra challenge but I imagine there'll be an easy mode for those who just want to enjoy it for the story - I think they said that Normal in ME3 was the same as Hardcore from ME2.
i though it was the new veteran

Easily one of the more minor issues.
Wait. You thought the single player demo for ME3 was hard?
Well difficulty is subjective but, I will say in ME2 having never played a cover based shooting game I played on the hardest difficulty and I didn't fined it that hard. So I am all for an increase in difficulty.
well the Ai isnt a dumb bag of bricks that screams ENEMIES EVERYWHERE anymore, thats for sure.

Fuckers are working together to kill your characters, flanking manuvres, cover fire, tactical formations. It took me a while to leanr how to deal with each group of enemies and work together with other people to counter their advances.
To be fair I didn't find my companion AI to be that much better. I remember taking I think Kasumi and Grunt all the time. Kasumi because she couldn't be shot half the time and Grunt because he didn't die.

And there I was thinking I only loved Mass Effect because it was a great game that made me feel awesome. Silly me, eh...

Don't like the new way Tech Armor works. It makes me concerned for the future viability of my old ME2 Sentinels.

My main complaints are thus:

1: The difficulty of getting a hold of a Collectors Edition that ISN'T already pre-ordered. DAMN THIS GAME FOR BEING SO POPULAR! Thankfully, I managed to last-minute pre-order one at Best Buy.

2: The fact that in multiplayer, getting a new character, a new gun, or an upgrade for a gun you already have is extremely hit-or-miss: You usually get either an upgrade for a class and race you already have, or one of the starting guns. But, I've heard that the retail version of multiplayer is going to have character and weapon packs, at least supposedly. If thats the case, awesome!

3: Not all classes in multiplayer were created equal. Yes, I know, some are very specialized, but some are clearly better than others. Not REALLY a bad thing, but for me, its just not fun playing as anything other than my Level 20 Quarian Engineer. Though, part of that is due to the fact that, well, shes a Quarian.

4: The changes of some weapons. Very minor complaint, don't get me wrong, but I remember the Mattock being more powerful, and a little more accurate. On the other hand, I also remember the Revenant being less accurate and more powerful. Still pretty damn fun to use one or the other though.

And lastly, 5: The fact that it hasn't come out yet. I seriously want to play this, and I want to play it NOW. March 6th can not come soon enough even if it was suddenly March 6th this very second, and I had the game in my hands at this very moment. Well, actually come to think of it, that might be soon enough, but you understand my anticipation and excitement regardless.

It's true, he's like our own little pet beehive. We poke him and the bees fly out and try and sting us and call us fanboys.

Little to they realize they have no stingers and we don't give a fuck what they think.

Haha. Silly bees.

Forgot where I was going with that.

Oh well I typed it out too late to delete it.

I have not played the demo but have seen it played. it makes me wonder how my sniper will play. It seems to have a focus on mid to close range combat. That may or may not be a negative change from ME2.

I fear I cannot say much until either I play the full game or at least watch a lets play of it. But I am curious of Ashley's new look and I wonder what other changes/ new characters will be less than stellar. All I need is wrex, tali, and garrus and I am set ( liara is a nice bonus).

It would be a kick in the teeth if the crew from ME1 and ME2 were not able to join you.

I fear I cannot claim any major issues at this time.

Well, the dislikes of the demo, from Ashley's new look and the slightly dodgy animations, have already been covered, so I'll give something I liked, and how I might dislike it.

I liked how the guilt and stress of Shepard's career is reflected when he tries to help a young kid escape, and when you look back it was a figment of your imagination. Then, when you're about to leave, the hallucinations return to haunt you as take off. It's a nice bit of symbolism and fragmentation of reality that adds an aspect of character building, even if it's a mandatory bit that every shepard regardless of personality goes through. However, the blade is double-edged. If they follow this up with some more psychological hopelessness that interferes with reality and needs to be dealt with somehow that isn't pretentious, then it's the bit that could turn this from a good game into a great game. If it's just something they put in there to have a shocking moment, then it's going to be a stupidly out of place scene that we'd rather hadn't been thought up. I'm hoping that the former is the case, because Shepard has come across rather like Batman in the sense that both are completely competent and can handle anything thrown at them with nothing ever shaking them. Some sense of vulnerability and emotional weight would be a welcome addition.

ME3 Gripes:

-Origin Exclusive. I only buy PC games on Steam, and I don't accept the practice of publishers like EA forcing me to make an account with them just to play their single-player game.

-I don't mind so much that ME 2 turned the series from an "RPG" into a shooter, but the series lost me by changing the tone to "action blockbuster", by the end of ME 2 I felt it was about as sci fi as Michael Bay's Transformers, and everything that's been released and leaked about ME 3 confirms this shift. For me the first Mass Effect was a decent imitation of KoTOR, and the revelations about protheans and reapers were fun. But by the end of ME 2, I realized that they had already wrapped things up to my satisfaction in ME 1. The only thing left is to have some mega battle, but there are no character arcs or plot mysteries left that I really care about - and after the boring answers about the collectors and omega-4 relay, I don't trust EA to wrap up mysteries in a satisfying way anyway.

I'm just going to come out and say it: ME1 was the best ME. The combat was kind of weird at first, but, I liked the fact that you had to train in crap to be good at it - not every class was a crack shot, unless you put points into it. Also, there were so many skills, it made you want to play through the game a few times to max your skills out. I liked the different classes of armor, manufacturers of guns, etc. It was cool, and I liked all of the detail it added into the game. Flavor text is sweet.

I like the fact that they're bringing back some of the inventory from ME1 that they gutted in ME2, but, I don't feel like they did enough. Yes, I know we don't get to screw around with the inventory in the SP demo, but, if it is anything like the MP inventory, I'd like more. I was really, really disappointed with the lack of a true inventory in ME2.

Otherwise, I like some the design ideas. I like the idea of allowing every class to carry any weapon, but some classes (soldier) can carry more weapons/heavier weapons than other classes (adept). I'd prefer weapon skill trees, but this is a pretty good idea as well.

Oh, heavy melee is great. I think it was a really good design decision. Makes your character feel a lot more flexible in combat.

2) Don't even know why you think I care about the people in the middle. As far as I'm concerned, anyone unwilling or unable to make up their minds are pussies. Full stop.
There's a difference between not being able to make up one's mind and one being open to faults and still enjoying the games. The idea that someone must either be a fanboy or hate the series is like saying somebody must either be a democratic extremist or a republican extremist. There is a middle ground, in fact that's where upwards of 90% of people are.

Do I like the game? Yes.

Would you call me a fanboy? Most likely, as I even call myself that sometimes.

Do I think the Mass Effect games are perfect? No.

1. Shepard's face is almost always lacking emotion in normal dialogues.
2. You can always tell when there will be a fight due to the appearance of chest high walls.
3. Several of the characters are rather 2-dimensional.
4. Friendly AI has it's moments that annoy me. Such as when they randomly charge 5 enemies.
I could continue this list for quite a while.

I have pointed out faults in the games, therefore I don't think the game is perfect.
I also pre-ordered the Collector's Edition because it is one of my favorite series.

I am the middle-man. I like the series, but I don't think it's perfect. I don't know if you care about me. But you can't deny I exist.

First off this is not about the launch day release of DLC for Mass Effect 3, this is so I can voice my own gripes, and allow you to as well, with what I have seen and played of Mass Effect 3. My first problem is probably something that is just due to the demo but it doesn't feel like you got much say in what was going on. I know that some of you might think that it is because of what kind of play setting I was on, but I played on both Story and the RPG one and there wasn't really a difference. And for my secondly, and this only occurred once, was a lag in the Multiplayer on the Urban Ghetto map which caused me to fly up in the air, fall back down, die on impact, and then respawn while falling under the map to where I could apparently kill people when I couldn't see anything. Finally is Ashely's new look. I know most people don't care but Bioware or EA or whoever is to blame just made her look like a hoe. When I seen it I was just "Nu >:C" Besides these little things everything else is awesome and I can't wait until the 6th.
I think it is just the fact that it was a demo, I'm sure they'll give you a better feel for things (hopefully) in the full game. Your second problem is just some glitch that will hopefully be fixed, nothing like that ever happened to me so it isn't too big of an issue. Thirdly I don't mind Ashley's new look, some chicks get slutty, it just happens man, it time to rejoice not be upset that the prim and proper (*****) woman has changed.

I voted no. There are a few minor issues but I don't really care about them enough. I haven't seen anything that has changed and that I really don't like.

Ashley disliking Toombs dislikes Ashley.

Also worried about Prothean, but not disliking.

Extremely worried about [bodied]EDI though.

Main complaints:
-Fluctuating overall quality of dialogue(sometimes its good...sometimes its really bad)
-Reaper villainous 'decay'(our humanely incomprehensible Machiavellian plan of dominating the galaxy is landing on earth and shooting red lasers so things go BOOM!)
-Still feels clunky/stilted compared to Gears of War
-Still too cover-reliant in terms of combat
-RPG elements are threadbare(I know its a demo, so this might expand in the future)
-Multiplayer feels somewhat lackluster(was hoping more diverse and interesting objectives. Feels too cookie cutter for a horde mode)
-Ashley's character design looks eh....too unprofessional? She looks mocked up for some beauty pageant or a date, what was wrong with the last design?
-Prothean DLC

I'll see what others say about the game before I purchase. Still way too apprehensive.
