I hoarde so badly I have actually died in situations I could easily have gotten out of had I merely deined to use my actually good weapons. In Fallout 3 I was still using a Hunting Rifle and 10mm pisol despite having two Chinese assault rifles, a mini-nuke and a mini-gun, all with stacks of ammunition.
I also kind of like the challenge. Machining gunning a roomfull of badguys to death is all well and good, but can you take them out from beyond the weapons normal range using only your keenly honed sharpshooting skills? I could score headshots with that Hunting Rifle when I couldn't even see the enemies I was pointing it at. (I also once managed a single-shot kill headshot unscoped with the magnum revolver when I was standing in one town and the target was standing in another, but that was just luck. I was having fun and unloading bullets at this vague speck when suddenly I lost karma and everyone wanted to kill me.)
