In the name of the moon...I mean science.

1. Male
2. About once a week.
3. Nope
4. I'd probably do it less in a relationship. Not that I would know (foreveralone etc etc)
5. I think it helps you to get to know your body. And guys can learn to last longer
6. I really don't focus less depending on masturbation. I'm a pretty focussed person
7. I believe I read somewhere it's healthy for sperm to be 'recharged' once in a while. Other than that, I doubt it affects anything.
8. Not really. I just have a lower self-esteem now that I know it won't grow anymore

Male

bluemistake2 said:
2. How often do you do the deed?
On average about 7 times a week.

bluemistake2 said:
3. Are you in a relationship?
Yes, married.

bluemistake2 said:
4. If yes do you do it more or less? If no do you do it more than you usually would?
Less than when I was single.

bluemistake2 said:
5. Do you believe it improves your performance in the bedroom or not?
Definitely, on several levels. It reduces the urgency of sexual relations, allowing for slower, more considerate sex. My wife also has a lower sex drive than me, so on nights when she just wants to cuddle I don't feel irritated.

bluemistake2 said:
6. Focus; does reduced/stopped masturbation decrease or increase your ability to focus on things?
I definitely find myself more able to focus for the rest of the day after masturbating in the morning.

bluemistake2 said:
7. Do you believe that is is harmful or healthy? I.E. Reduce chances of certain cancers, mental health, stress or makes you go blind and grow hair on the palms of your hands?
Done correctly (light grip, varying angles, using a good lubricant, etc) it is no more harmful or unhealthy than regular stress. For those trying to have children it improves sperm quality, and for those just trying to blow off steam it reduces stress.

bluemistake2 said:
8. Is it different now opposed to when you were younger?
Now it's more of a routine than an obsession.

1. Male

2. Usually once per day. If I'm bored though I'll do it like 3 times a day.

3. Nope

4. If was sexually active I'd imagine I'd do it less. But I wouldn't know.

5. I think I'd do better the first time around then the other fella who has never experienced climax.

6. I dread it if I don't masturbate for more than a day, because I'll get stuck at or school and get an urge to do it. Though I do remember when Starcraft 2 was released I went without it for 8 days.

7. It's stimulating, it feels really good, and it reduces the chance of prostate cancer. What's not to love?

8. I apparently started doing it pretty early, 5th grade I think. Only thing that changed was now I do it more often.

Our neighbors kid, 8 at the time, almost walked in on me doing it. I got my cloths on just in time for him to walk in. By the skin of my teeth, it was that close.

Questions about my personal life? Sure, why not.

1. Male
2. Varies. If I go through periods when I'm really busy I might go a week or two without doing it. Other times, I might do it every day, though I try not to
3. Nope
4. Never had a relationship so I can't say
5. N/a
6. Again, varies. If I go a long period without doing it and don't think about it, I'm usually ok. Other times when I do start thinking about it I can't concentrate at all
7. I believe it's only unhealthy if you do it all the time.
8. As in has my technique changed? (It hasn't) My attitude towards it hasn't changed either.

I can't vote cos I don't not do it, but I don't do it that often anymore.

1. Are you male or female?
Female.
2. How often do you do the deed?
Once every couple of weeks.
3. Are you in a relationship?
Yes.
4. If yes do you do it more or less? If no do you do it more than you usually would?
Heck of lot less these days, if you don't count masturbation during foreplay.
5. Do you believe it improves your performance in the bedroom or not?
Yes/no. Yes because if I know what I like I can guide him towards what works, but also no because, well, the mister went through a phase a year or so ago of masturbating at silly times and then not being able to have sex...
6. Focus; does reduced/stopped masturbation decrease or increase your ability to focus on things?
Not anymore. I've kinda grown out of the fascination with my vagina tbh.
7. Do you believe that is is harmful or healthy? I.E. Reduce chances of certain cancers, mental health, stress or makes you go blind and grow hair on the palms of your hands?
I think it's perfectly healthy. Good stress relief too.
8. Is it different now opposed to when you were younger?
I used to masturbate like crazy when I was younger. Discovered it at 12 and was at it almost daily, continued up to being about 17, then I got my first boyfriend and sex took over, so the desire went away. Nowadays (I'm 25) I can rarely be bothered to tell you the truth!

As for sexual disasters - I once dislocated my little toe during sex. I had my feet on his shoulders and slipped. Painful - my toe was bent out at a 90 degree angle to my foot, although I just snapped it upright and kept on going. It still causes problems though cos it pops out of place fairly bloody regularly in the middle of normal activities such as walking!

OK I wasn't going to do this but after reading a few posts I have this strange compulsion to share...

1. Male.
2. Varies. Not usually every day, maybe every 2 or 3.
3. Not currently in a relationship.
4. Relationships have never affected how much I did it. Although I've never had sex with any of my partners.
5. N/A
6. When the urge is upon me I have to release the tension or else I cannot concentrate. However I don't consider frequency to be a factor.
7. I don't think there are any health benefits or risks.
8. I very rarely get excited about the prospect of masturbation nowadays. It's mostly just something I have to do because, god dammit, I'm aroused again. Such a chore.

1. Make
2. I haven't since before Christmas.
3. I'm married with a son due next month.
4. I tended to masturbate about as much when I was single. I have a fairly high sex drive, so I tend to "outpace" my wife in terms of desire; however, I haven't masturbated in over a month since my wife's sex drive has bone ballistic. The hormones make her incredibly horny; she calls them whoremones.
5. Yes. Knowing what pleases you is incredibly important when you have someone else involved.
6. When I have pent up sexual energy, I struggle to focus. So having sex and/or masturbating increases my ability to focus.
7. It's healthy, to a point. Like anything taken to excess, it can be detrimental to your life. i.e. - if you exercise too much, it can hurt you.
8. Yep. I know how to control myself much moreso.

1. Male
2. Pretty much once a day
3. Yes
4. Probably more

2. Rarely. I'm on a medication that puts a damper on the whole sex drive thing. I certainly don't lack one, but it's much lower than most other women my age, I think.
I was put on medication that completely killed everything for me. I changed doctors, they changed medication, I changed doctors; I told the new doctor, I changed medication - it got worse. I told them that so they found a new medication without the 'side-effects'. Now I can feel things a little more.

My advice - mention the side effects to your doctor, if they don't listen or don't care, go to a new doctor. Sex of any sort is most enjoyable at a younger age. Past 25 it starts to become less interesting so you might as well enjoy it while you can. It may even help your depression.

I'm not going to get in depth, but I'd like to say that even if you're asexual, you can still have a libido, and subsequently want to masturbate. I come under that bracket, and I think this should be noted. There's really a lot of different things to do with sexual orientation, especially where asexuality is involved.

Would it be unusually cruel if I of all people didn't reply to this survey?

Yes, that's right. I am chaos incarnate.

Or something...

answered in poll

3. Are you in a relationship?
Yes

4. If yes do you do it more or less? If no do you do it more than you usually would?
No change really

5. Do you believe it improves your performance in the bedroom or not?
Don't think it has an effect except maybe lasting longer if I've done it recently

6. Focus; does reduced/stopped masturbation decrease or increase your ability to focus on things?
Makes it harder, always jerk off before making important life decisions!

7. Do you believe that is is harmful or healthy? I.E. Reduce chances of certain cancers, mental health, stress or makes you go blind and grow hair on the palms of your hands?
Healthy, basically for the reasons above

8. Is it different now opposed to when you were younger?
Nope

5. I can't say for sure but im pretty sure it has no effect

7. I wouldn't call it unhealthy. I don't know enough to have a solid opinion but I would lean towards thinking that it is mentally healthy
8. I can't remember =/ I don't think it's that different other than feeling more embarrassed about it as a kid.

1. Male
2. 4-7 times a week. Changes a lot.
3. No.
5. Not really. Fapping and actual sex are very different experiences.
6. Not really. I went a few weeks without any fapping just to see what it would be like, and it didn't really distract me or anything. Wasn't at the top of my mind.
7. I believe it does nothing. It's simple short-term instant pleasure. After the deed is done, I forget about it and it meant nothing.
8. No, and I've been fapping as long as I can remember.

1. Male.
2. At least twice a day.
3. No, and I'm not actively seeking one.
4. Nope, it's pretty much always been the same.
5. No.
6. It helps me focus on things, to be honest. I get a noticeable surge of creativity and/or logical thinking afterwards. I come up with/figure out many things in this state.
7. Who knows? I've been doing it for pretty much as long as I can remember so, I have nothing to compare it to. Certainly nothing substantially different about me, health-wise, than anybody else.
8. Is what different? The process, yes. The frequency, no. There's always been a huge roleplay aspect but the topic/setting/etc. has changed a lot over the years.

1. Are you male or female?
Male
2. How often do you do the deed?
1 - 4 times a week; it really depends on chance stimulus when I surf the internet.
3. Are you in a relationship?
Never
5. Do you believe it improves your performance in the bedroom or not?
Well, I know I last longer on my individual sessions if I do is successively. Never had much experience beyond that
6. Focus; does reduced/stopped masturbation decrease or increase your ability to focus on things?
Never really noticed.
7. Do you believe that is is harmful or healthy? I.E. Reduce chances of certain cancers, mental health, stress or makes you go blind and grow hair on the palms of your hands?
Both. Studies I read on the net (So grain of salt must be taken, yes) that prove that masturbation is healthy and good for the body but there are also studies that say over-masturbation is harmful... And here's [http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/cupids-poisoned-arrow/201110/can-you-trust-your-johnson] the website I got some of that data from.

8. Is it different now opposed to when you were younger?
I knew less about it, greater availability, the knowledge on how to access that greater availability and a broader scope of genres.
