Yeah, this. Just remove your small change and put it in a tub or something to accumulate, and keep the bigger, more useful change in a wallet with the rest of your money. That way you're lugging less useless coinage around, and by the end of the month you've probably saved up enough change in your tub to take to the bank and get some real money back. I've been voluteering in a charity shop for about a year, and I've seen those penny-pinching gits we call customers use some truly random things to carry spare change. Pill boxes, envelopes, I remember one who seemed to keep her coins divided up by type in her coats various pockets. Compared to that, a small bag/pouch designed for that purpose seems perfectly sane.

I agree. The idea that men have to carry around wallets and women purses is antiquated. I've carried around a wallet my entire life, never liking the idea of using a purse for simple things like a credit card and some cash, and I don't care what people think of me. I think men with over bulging pockets and sagging pants are much more ugly looking than a man who has a stylish bag and smart looking clothes with slim pockets.

It's a matter of local culture UNFORTUNATELY. I find it very stylish depending on the purse. I got one but can't use it here in Brazil, if I do I'm seen as either one of those pain-in-the-ass alternative types or a homosexual (nothing against GLS community, but I'm not gay and I don't think anyone likes to be seen and eventually judged for whom they are not). But hell, those purses are very useful. I also enjoy those "cowboy" hats, and paid good money on a Harley Davidson one, no problem wearing it on the USA (California to be more precise) but God forbid i use it here in Brazil, people will either laugh or think I'm a fan of "boiadeiros" and "sertanejo" and other stuff I REALLY DO DESPISE.

I have these things called "pockets"... I rarely find I don't have space to keep odds and ends that I might need to have with me, in fact, sometimes, I just pick up random things, like small piles of gravel and put them in my pockets, just because I hate to see pockets go to waste! D=

I think there's a distinct stylised difference between a 'satchel' and a 'purse'. Similar to how there is a stylised difference between a kilt and a skirt, or men's underwear and women's underwear.

If there's one thing I miss about the 90s, it was being able to wear bum-bags as a kid. I understand why they're pretty much taboo now, but my word were they useful back in the day. You didn't even have to turn your head as you rummaged through them!
Normally I have a rather laissez faire attitude towards specific gender associations (I'm girly enough that I need to), but seriously, a coin purse is for old ladies with too many pills to carry in their bottles. Buy a wallet, they have these little closing pouches attached to them which can, get these, be used to store your coins RIGHT NEXT TO YOUR OTHER MONIES!

A lot of people have already said this, but there are plenty of methods available to not be carrying around that many coins in the first place. Just drop all your loose change in a jar somewhere when you get home, or if you drive a car then designate one cupholder for change and trade it in for bills when it gets full in either case.
