The reason I didn't add reasons was because I know I'm going to end up in a long drawn out argument with someone who thinks otherwise and I really couldn't be arsed to go down that road. But, since you asked:Samus Aaron said:Care to explain why? That doesn't really add much to the discussion unless you give reasons to support your opinion.FightThePower said:I despise it with a fiery passion. It is an insult to the series.
- The combat is reasonably fun, but does not have much variety
- First person mode is quite awkward to do in the middle of combat, though the transition is very smooth.
- There are these stupid little sections where you are stuck in first person mode and have to hunt for a specific point on the screen and are exceedingly boring
- Boss fights are distinctly average, with more than one lifted from previous Metroid games for no discernable reason (they're not series regulars like Ridley or the Space Pirates, all of the ones I can think of have only appeared once).
- Instant Death sections are annoying (this is more of a personal thing than bad design)
And then there's the story which is just so horribly, horribly bad; to it's credit, if Other M fixed that it would be an okay game. This article sums up how I feel about the story far better than I ever could.
