Poll: Modern Warfare 2?

COD 4 Modern Warfare was perfectly fine. The only reason I see a need for a sequel to it is so they can add more maps/weaponry/perks and whatnot, or at least edit the old ones. The major problem I had with that game was the overpowered guns, especially when you could kill someone with 2 bullets of a Light Machine Gun with a 100-bullet clip (the RPD).

Ah fair enough, i still find it a little hard to believe, taking all of the aspects of a COD game and making them into a MW game instead, surely there has to be some copyright laws breached there?

No, these are the people that made call of duty 4 (the good one) people think they are dropping COD because treyarch made such a poor job of COD WAW (The bad one ^^)

The big gun ship mission was fun i think, much better than tanks

I agree. the A130 mission was awesome. it gave the game a new perspective knowing that YOU were actually one of those flashing dots down there, yet here YOU were up here in an American support craft at the same time. the directions he gave me were a bit dodgy while playing it the first time round, and it took me a while to get used to the flashing dot system (many an SAS member died that night for me unfortunately) but it was still an awesome experience

And although the strafing runs on the ships felt like deja vu with all the other WWII flight sims i've played, at least i wasn't flying the damn plane this time other than the fact that the Zeroes were nearly impossible to shoot down, i was pleased with myself in the black cat mission, i saved 2 sailors

I don't want to appear as biased towards aircraft missions, i just dislike tanks. playing battlefied: modern combat helped solidify that one in me.

Yeak that achievement took me forever, mainly because i thought you HAD to rescue the sailors, i let them drown ^^

it told us that there is going to be night vision...

In the trailer itself, one of the guys you see says "Remember. No Russian"

So obviously, were going to be fighting Russians again. Whether it be Ultra-Nationalist remnants. Or Rebels seizing power and declaring war, apparantly nobody has love for our precious Red Soviet Allies. If it was Chinese, I wouldn't mind. Especially because it'd be the first time a game features Chinese as the main opposing force in a Modern Day video game. Hell, a UK vs US thing would be nice to see. Although we know who the winners would already be (Flame me in PM), it'd be nice to see it.

I agree totally with the selling quote.
As for COD4 and H3, they're both winning formulas, because who wants to shoot Nazis when you can shoot terrorist organisations... or even a dodgy, unstable covenant of different alien species that seems too focused on killing itself to worry about the big green man that keeps popping up and creating havoc wherever he goes.

but games aren't just about who or what you're killing..there are a million different factors that make these games so great, that i'm too lazy to list here. i'm proud to have experienced them both, online and in the campaigns. it's hard to tell which is better, but if i had to decide, it would be in a different thread to this one.

I like the idea of there being Vehicles though because that gives a premise for there to be huge massive maps. This will mean it is SOOO much easier to mod it cos as u may or may not know snipers in CoD4 only have a fire dist of 350 inches or 200 metres. This in turn gives people who create mods so much more room to mod it in the way they want.

In CoD 4 you could five those 500 - 1000 metres that you wanted to under 1 condition. It has to be a projectile not a bullet. This was rectified at by some people that created mods of their own. But of course the Jack ass' dnt wanna tell you about any of the ways you can change it so u can shoot someone with a bullet from 1000 metres (i.e. real life). What i do want to see is at least 1 hummer, A proper 1, and this would open up a whole world of possibilities. The next one i want to see is the ability to pilot a heli but only at certain points in the Game.

CoD4 didn't have a tank mission. Given that CoD4 was the best game I've ever played, I really wouldn't mind more of it.

not true, methinks. Fallout 3 is USA vs China. it says so very blatantly via a nuclear war between them, that has destroyed the entire world

i was disappointed that there wasn't an English faction in WAW seaming as we played such a huge part in the war and didn't even get a mention

I wouldn't be surprised if it goes back to focusing on a middle east country, i liked fighting through the sort of desert environment

They send at least a Dozen and a Half of men to just escort a single Tank. Which then goes about and wreaks tiny bits of havoc. It daren't even brave RPG fire. Do you honestly think sitting there while the AI mops up the big bad meanies for you will make things any better?

Besides Operation Anchorage. When did you fight Chinese forces?

Also, it's not modern day. Imagine fighting through a Chinese street. With straw lamps and bright neon signs with Kanji glowing everywhere. Reminds me of that map in CoD4. Chinatown
