one thing that always ends up bothering me is when people complain about campers and noob tubers, is what they are implying everyone must do. in an apparrant perfect world, everyone runs around with smgs firing once in awhile to let you know where they are, and are oblivious to where you are. oh and they dont use any explosives. also this is supposed to apply on tactical game modes where you DEFEND places, and camping while defending makes no sense

I believe it was called "Noob Tube" due to the fact it was easy to use in MW1 but you are right bout MW2 it takes a little bit more mastery and I have tried this out first hand and I don't get upset as much as I did in MW1 but now I have people with marathon running and kniving everything they see, i have taht to worry about.

I think one of the biggest reasons people hate it is because of guys like this ^. I don't mind you using it if you know where I am, but launching it across the level at the start of the game is no better than glitching to win.

Yea but the odds of hitting anyone are astronomical. It's not like I'm in any way cheating. I am using the equipment I have in the most effective way to get kills. Which is what we are all trying to do in the end.

and the most effective way is to lob a grenade in a random arc'd direction.

By the way, I only use the launcher in bigger maps. For close quarter combat, I'm an MP5 man.

middle schoolers? noob tube has been around for at least a decade, way before modern warfare

this is exactly why i love third person shooters, its much much harder to pull off camping, due to the way better camera angle, so i tend to do way better in those games because i can check corners way better without having the worry about getting shot while i move my camera angle for a second


OT: the power isn't too bad right now...but i think they could nerf the reload time a bit, its a bit too short almost i think, otherwise i dont mind it really

I liked using it on distance maps or maps with tight spots that need to pushed through (Creek for example). I hated using it on really close quater maps, i felt like i was breaking the game's flow.

The GL itself is not the problem. If the option for server rules or dedicated servers existed then this would be a non-issue.

It's not a big deal at all. It can occasionally be annoying, but if they can only get kills with the nade launcher they only have two rounds.

I dont mind it personally as a long range weapon to take out campers/clear buildings etc. But it is when people have their GL out while crouching around corners inside buildings... that really pisses me off, if they are that close range then they dont need it!

I dislike it but it's not that bad. I suppose it's worth it to have around to counter-act shield users.

Does anyone have a gripe with the thumper? I tend to think it's reasonable given that it takes 2.5 days for it to fire.

i play on servers with no gl/no martyrdom/no last stand rules anyway, so screw all gl-noobs ^_^
i find it just kind of cheap, no kind of skill or fines required, just point in aproximate direction and fire. bulllets at least require you to aim..

I can be tactical. But as some have stated, when people instantly switch to it when they spawn, you know you've got a noob on your team.

To be honest, we're always going to have these 'cheap kills', whether it's martyrdom, speedy knives, helicopters, grenades, campers; we just have to live with it.

I used it a little.But usually just shot the nades at choppers.
Since using the launcher din´t count tworwards challenges.

Actually, if you have Blast Shield, I don't think noob tubes are insta-kill...

Nope, gets called the noob tube since you get it from rank 1 on a class and doesn't really take alot to get a kill with it.

I will say I greatly prefer the grenade launchers of CoD4 over MW2 since:
1. You had to give up perk 1 for it
2. You couldn't get more ammo for it
3. Not everyone uses an assault rifle and is likely to have one attached
4. Even with sleight of hand the reload will likely get you shot

I only ever used the grenade launcher in CoD4 for the Ouch challenges really because I just found it so cheap being able to fire a one hit kill weapon without having to aim down sight or anything. RPG - fair enough it has to iron sight before firing it and too close will kill you while grenade launcher can kill in close range and won't damage you.

I don't condem it's use in CoD4 since you do have to make a sacrifice to use it which gives it a bit of balance.

Whatever rocks your boat, just don't claim to be pro when using it

It's cheap because it robs the fun of everyone else but your self

sorry to do this but whats the point in making the game fun for others but not yourself. i know this comes off bad but online i always put my entertainment before anyone elses.

I think it is alright. Every player should learn to use it in moderation, though, so as not to piss off everyone. I try my best to only use it for two lives a game (if that, even).
