The two PDWs, the HK MP7 [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MP7] and the FN P90 [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FN_P90], are officially considered rivals. Which of the two do you prefer?

I personally prefer the P90. It has a longer barrel, so it'l be more accurate. It has more rounds in its mag (50 as opposed to the 20, 30 or 40), fires at 900 RPM (the MP7 goes at 950 RPM which is just plain unnecessary, made worse by the fact that it has less ammo in its magazine), and due to this lower firing rate has less recoil. Your opinions?

By the way, yes, the MP7 does appear in HL2 as the "SMG".

Hmm, hard to choose, as I like the MP7, but the P90 looks like something straight outta science fiction. I'd have to say MP7, though.

It's a mystical, magical version that has an integrated grenade launcher, too.

I'm also going to go with the P90, as it's a true ambidextrous weapon, along with the reasons you've listed. The only downside to the P90 I can think of is the rather cumbersome magazine removal/insertion technique.

Yeah, pretty much the same thing here. The rounds are armor-piercing, too.

MP7 all the way, baby. It just looks cooler. You can always use larger clip.

I prefer the P90, because it looks cool, but it's also a better weapon, I think.

P90. With 50 rounds of flesh-piercing goodness, I can kill the hopes and dreams of countless individuals before I have to change the clip! Also, because its so compact, I can duel-wield those suckers. Bullets-souffle for all.

P90. More bullets, more accuracy, more power = more win

edit; To be more detailed you should say, which of the two is better suited to the role it's meant to fit. The MP7 is better suited to the personal defence, police, driver defence etc.

If I had to choose I'd go with the MP-7. The FN-P90 has issues with jamming. The rounds are loaded horizontally, and they have to rotate 90 degrees so they can load into the chamber. This creates a huge bottleneck, and an unnecessary extra step in the chambering process. With the MP-7 the bolt chambers the round straight from the magazine, it cuts out a possible fail point and that's more important than a few extra rounds. The more moving parts you have, the less reliable the gun is. If the gun doesn't fire it doesn't matter how many rounds you have in the magazine. I would still prefer a UMP-45 for a submachine gun though.

New Rule: You must have fired the gun in question in real life to have an opinion on it.

From what I've heard, HK guns are crap. I've never shot one, though. I have fired a civilian AK-47 and AR-15, however. Why are AKs always the inaccurate gun in games? Even if they are inaccurate compared to other rifles, they're still more than sufficient to hit a target across any distance that a game is likely to require you to fire one. Games usually don't make you fire at targets 3 miles away.
