It does suck when a game's multiplayer servers are shut down. Even more so when you weren't able to fully enjoy a game because you didn't have online access before the shut down.

in other news, Captcha: Hobby-Horse, I have gotten this one several time in a row for multiple weeks.

I do not have hobbies or horses, or horses that might be a hobby of mine.
Same here. Very strange, that is.

This is good to know. I shall now become a PC gamer.
Just make sure to get someone to help you. Stuff like building a PC can have you ripped off if you arent careful. Hell, just make a new thread if you have any questions.

Also, sorry for my first post, I mistook it as some sort of joke or troll since theres not many people on this forum who havent heard of dedicated servers. No offense though.
Just a quick thought. Should I buy my PC games on Steam or not? I ask for your advise because I have no idea, and amuse you did it before. All advise is welcome.

Hamachi.

Xbox live has a way to host a server even if the service for that game has been discontinued.

Dedicated servers on PC.

Solved? The companies should at least release tools on launch instead of forcing modders to create their own.
I've never heard that you can do that with a console game. How do you go about doing it? Can you do it with any game which once had online features? Is it completely legal?

I don't play my xbox online, but I knew of some people who could reactivate certain games. I don't think it works for anything that requires connecting to an official server because it's peer-2-peer.

Steam is a pretty decent service. I would recommend trying it since it's free but you don't have to use it. Also if you are going to game on PC then try and learn the lingo people use a lot.

Since PC games nearly always have text chat and people are lazy, there are a lot of things that would be good to know. Some of it is spefic to certain games but there are some universal things to know.
For example...

GG = Good game(Usaully said after any game meaning a fun well played match, sometimes used as an insult to mean the match is over but it's usaully a positive thing).

GL HF = Good luck have fun(Just what it sounds like, someone hoping for the match to be fun and not be super competitive).

Pretty simple stuff really but I didn't realize what people meant at first when they said stuff like this.

I'm downloading it now as we speak. Add me "Bronze_Skin", I am free to play so I can't add you. Let's do this.

Is there a forum I can go to learn the lingo?

I don't know of anything in particular, maybe try Tv tropes. You can just learn it by playing games and examining when people say these things. If you don't know something then you could just ask what it means, most people will tell you. I only listed two because I can't think of any others, i'll edit the post if anything comes to mind.
