I appluad you for using the search bar, but vs threads aren't usally well liked.
I'm ok with the thread being disliked. It doesn't need to be liked. :) Just needs to answer my question. ;) And so far, people seem to really like MW1 more than 2. Maybe I can grab a cheapie version of it since the newest incarnation is out there.
If you are looking for COD4 it depends on the place and if it was used or not but it should be cheaper. However this was not the case for me earlier in the year (around April, I believe) when I was trying to buy it for my little brother and I couldn't find a new copy for under $49.99 for some reason, which pissed me off because I could get Bioshock for around $40 but that was because it was the Bioshock/Oblivion deal. Anyway, my point being that as long as you're looking in the right places or for used copies, it SHOULD be pretty cheap.

both
what 2 left out is made up by
having a fucking ending!
sorry
but it is still good
the two player thing is fun, but seems too easy and broken when you are using one guy to block a door and knifing a juggernaut while the other guy is out of sight reviving guy one when he gets to second stage of death

:p Whatever. Didn't know there were additional acronyms. I've only ever heard it refered to as "Modern Warfare 2."

If I aint wrong it's a satelit that sees them ( Aint sure tho) and the reason americans radar doesn't work is that the russian stole a device and somehow cracked the americans codes and hacked into their's radar system or something like.
You retrieve the device during the ice climbing mission

I'd say they're different enough to both be as good as each other, but I can't see myself ever going on MW1 again, so I voted for Modern Warfare 2

CoD4's singleplayer beats MW2's storywise, MW2's beats CoD4's singleplayer epic wise.

MW2's multiplayer is pretty much just s good as CoD4's. CoD4 has a bit "worse" guns with less attachments and all that, but it ballences out with MW2 having some great maps and some HORRABLE maps while all of CoD4's maps are good in their own way.

It all depends on what you want.

Personaly I think the multiplayer of MW2 will keep me playing for a longer time then CoD4s did but CoD4 had a much better singleplayer when it comes to story.

ok. I prefer the cod4 (Mw1) for the singel player campaign and mewtwo (Mw2) for the multiplayer and special ops

I'm watching the campaign for MW2 and so far, I've hit the 4th mission. So far it's ridiculous, and anyone who says this is "realistic" needs reeducation on the word.

MW2 was never done so it would be realistic, the producers said that it would be a more Hollywood story.

They're both good games, but if you're going to be playing mostly campaign, I'd stick to MW1. MW2 does have Special Ops, which is loads of fun to play with a friend, but there's no story connecting the missions, and the campaign story is not as good as MW1.

I keep hearing people bring up Special Ops, but I'm not sure I know what that is. Can anyone fill me in?

Yes, but people have been throwing this word and MW2 together like a ball to bat.

It's special missions which you can play either with friends of by yourself it's quite fun but it can be pretty hard. http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstation/board/message?board.id=callofduty3&thread.id=624212 should explain it

MW2 is better in about every way (apart from story) but the lack of dedicated server support kills the MP.

MW2, whiny PC people of questionable sexual orientation can fuck right off.
Is it just me or does everyone on this site automatically hate anything that's mainstream (after stroking it to the most recent ZP)? In case you didn't notice, the story was the only part of it he didn't like, and you can all learn something from his GoW2 review (just replacing popular with mainstream): Sometimes mainstream things are mainstream for a reason; because they're good.
