My mum doesn't mind. She can get bored with FPS's quite quickly but other than that, she will give everything a try. She loves games like Legend of Zelda.

My mum just doesn't understand them. I got her to play Guitar Hero once, and she tolerated one song with a strange bemusement, but didn't seem impressed.

My mom used to play NES with me when I was just a lad, but when I got my N64 and Mario Kart, she got motion sickness. We haven't played many games past that. She's really good at tower defender type games.

However, being a parent, she often gets things confused. She knows we have a 360, knows how to work it and play it, but still calls it a play station.

Mothers, what're you going to do with them?

Um... Kind of? She likes adventure games like Monkey Island and Myst, and she likes to torture people in The Sims, but she does not play anything beyond that (she says that games with a player controlled camera give her motion sickness). She does not look down on games though.

My moms not way into games, but she thinks the idea of a playable film is amazing. She mostly likes the visuals, not so much actually playing the game.

Bonus Trivia: She thought that Dead Space 2 looked amazing and the YOUR MOM HATES DEAD SPACE 2 campaign was the stupidest thing she had ever seen.

My mother plays Operation Flashpoint with my sister and I.

For anyone not familiar with it, this is it:

She's been into PC gaming for as long as I can remember, to varying degrees.
When I was a kid it was Lemmings and various other games on the Amiga, later it was Need for Speed, The Sims and Tomb Raider, and nowadays she dabbles in FPS as well. As I said she joins my sister and I in our LAN games of Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis. Her favourite specialty is sniping, and she's quite good at it.

I'm pretty proud of the fact that my mother has a favourite rifle, and knows what "bounding overwatch" means. :D

My mum doesn't play games herself, but she used to watch me play for hours. Her favourite to watch were MGS and Final Fantasy X.

Well my mom doesn't like the games I'm playing now. She thinks for the most part they're stupidly over the top and violent. But she never had a problem with me playing any certain games and when the N64 was still the hot ticket she (and my dad) would play that just as much as I would

When i was younger she would use to make me go out and do other stuff. As much as i complained i realize in hindsight that it was a good thing she did.

I only game in moderation nowadays so she doesn't really mind. She views them just like any other hobby, which is a good thing since that's the most healthy way to regard them.

She used to be a beast a Tetris, but those days have passed. I've tried getting her into Minecraft recently, to no avail.
We also played Blur a while back, since she likes to drive. She picked up the mechanics surprisingly fast.

She doesn't mind them, probably wishes I didn't spend as much time on them as I do. Doesn't play herself.
I'm in the same boat, though the last game she ever tried to play was Street Fighter 2 Turbo. She does, however, like to see how far games have come and is impressed at the quality of games like Red Dead Redemption.

My mother loved video games. We found them together back when they were becoming widely available, and she'd play on our Colecovision as much as I did. As a matter of fact, we were contestants on the videogame gameshow "Starcade" together. (We didn't win).

She passed away three years ago.

My mom likes typical mom games, she loves Professor Layton and puzzle games. Back when I was a kid she would play Sega Genesis games with me, but any console past that is too complex for her. The only game she plays on the xbox is Guitar Hero, and she kicks ass. She is the only person I know over 50 that can play on hard mode.

My mum tolerates them in general, provided I'm not just spending hours on end playing them without any sort of break or whatever, which is sensible (though she doesn't have the power to control my gaming habits, as she's about a hundred miles away, I still agree with her on that). And also, my mum is the person who originally got me into video games, as she used to play Crash Bandicoot and Spyro The Dragon years ago (though she hasn't for a very long time now), and that interested me in it. She sometimes plays the DS I left at home when I came to university, and she has her own Wii, which she sometimes plays, so yes, I'd say my mum likes games :D.
