My Mum isn't so much into games anymore but she did let it slip that when she was young, she used to skip school and go to the arcade to play Galaga; so being the ncie person I am, I bought and downloaded it to my 360. She picked up the controls pretty quickly and kicked my ass. My Dad doesn't game though. Just plays his Sudoku, he doesn't have a problem with them though.

Well, my mom never played games and they were not really on her radar. I am significantly older then most of you, so that is not a suprise.
Only 2 years younger then you (if your profile has your right age). My mom plays more those free puzzle game on the pc (the bejeweled kind). So also likes the oldschool mario games and mario cart. She kind of get lost in the 3d mario games.

Honestly if her english was better i bet there are much more games she would like to play.
Wonders if i should introduce my mom to the sims 3

My mom likes them but she doesn't play them as much anymore, she used to go to the arcades all the time. She tried playing Mortal Kombat with me but she decided it wasn't her thing and just watched me play most of the time. If there happens to be an arcade around that has Space Invaders, House of the Dead, or Galaga, she will kick my ass and laugh about it.

Is there a maybe option? Because she doesn't really play them (FarmVille and Tetris every once in awhile) but also won't go crazy if I buy a M rated game.

My mom's character in Oblivion is better than the rest of my family's. She doesn't like all games, shooters give her motion sickness, but she's fine with my brother and I playing them.

My mom never really got into gaming until the Wii came out. She'll only play it once in a blue moon, but that is more than she use to (which was never). She doesn't hate video games, she's just not that interested in them.

I think the last game my mom played was Super Mario Land for the gameboy. She even showed me how to beat the first level.

Sometimes when she watch me play she says something like "How are you so good at this game? I could never do that". Not sure if it's a compliment or the truth.

So she she doesn't hate them - she just doesn't play them anymore.

After reading about twenty thousand stories here lately about some mom up in arms about video games, I would just like to say that my mother finds gaming to be a healthy habit when done in moderation, and doesn't believe that the word "shit head" will turn me into a serial killer. My mother can not be the only one!

Does your mom like games? Yes or no? Why?
Depends, she likes playing casual games, but she doesn't like me playing a bunch of games...

My Mum loves them, she plays them. She played games back in ye olde days too like Space Invaders etc. Hence adding to my love of all era's of and having a good background of knowledge in gaming history. We still have our old Atari and Intellivision even, and a lot of other retro systems I still have a passion for.

I'll often talk with her about gaming news and she'll watch me play games and comment on them. She's pretty good at knowing pop culture related stuff. It's pretty sweet, she's turning 50 soon and I can rant about how there's still no R rating for games :p

My mum doesn't play herself, but she'll sit down and watch me play sometimes (if it's something like Mass Effect or Bioshock) and let me babble on about my latest game without looking too condescending. XD She certainly doesn't think video games promote violence or turn ordinary individuals into psychopaths.

She thinks shooters are bad for me.

Other than that, she's fine with video games.
