Cut off her head & put it in the freezer.

That's what I do when my mum pisses me off.
How many times has that worked?

OT: take the parts out that are yours and give her the original bits back to her

The question is, why is she threatening to take it away?
I doubt she is doing it just to be a *****

Surprised no one asked this yet.
Yeah, I'm beginning to wonder if this isn't just some kid whining about how his mom is actually punishing him for once.
Yup, right here. This whole...let's say "story" seems very one-sided.

Also, it's hers because no matter how old you are, you are still living in the house she's paying for. Technically, she owns everything in it. I'm 19, and I understand this concept. If you don't like it, move out.

I'd finish taking out her parts and make it entirely yours. However, if she pays for the internet or electricity, she could just deprive you of those just as easily.

Your living with your mother and you are eighteen. She owns it. Sucks but think of it as an impetus to do well in university and move to another place.

If you want to get really vindictive, give her back the case and drive only. In the end, she can do what she wants on the ground she's both your mother, and owns the house you live in.

Say "I'll just take the parts that I have bought and you can have your 'computer' back."
After all, you can have your computer running out of a shoebox. (Though you'll probably need to get your own monitor and inputs)

The computer is yours, but you are arguing with a woman, you can't possibly win.
Id buy a new case and stick all my parts in there, and then reassemble her old box, and voila now you got each your own comp.

I'm predicting she will still want to use yours tho, like I said, there is no winning with a woman, only tolerance.

Give it back, minus everything you put into it. Replace the parts that were hers with better ones, reassemble.

Well, if that. Might end up worth it to kind-of end the issue, but she'll probably keep arguing against it...

Yeahh, uhhh...

It's hard to give advice with only one point of view.
My advice, repetitive though it may be, is to give her a plastic case and CD drive (THE case and CD drive if possible). OR you chould just buy a new case and CD drive, put all your components in it, then give her all the original components of "her" computer. If you feel like spiting her, tell her you'll re-assemble it for a price.
Sounds to me like you need to move out, if your relationshit relationship with your parents is that bad.

Like it or not as a minor living under her roof with her as your legal guardian you have few rights to be honest. Technically as a child everything you own belongs to your parents, even if purchused with your own money. It could vary state by state in some cases, but it generally falls under the guidelines schools constantly use to enforce dress codes, locker searches, and similar things, kids (even teens) simply do not have the same rights as adults.
In my journalism class we learned that the minute you step on school campus you lose all your civil rights. I don't remember the exact details, but I thought it was interesting. I shall now look it up.

I'm going with the only logical thing to do is get a new case and take out the CD drive. This way You built your own computer, all your shit is in your shit case.

I think that the computer itself is yours, you paid for over 90% of it after all, however, unless you contribute to the electricity bill, the internet provider and other things, then she has a right to stop you using the internet or the electricity.

The nice option: Buy the parts necessary for her to run basic things along with her games, put the parts in the case (because that's basically her means of identifying computers, I assume.). Buy a new case for yourself and move out and live happily ever after...

Or

Take her to court and win...

She GAVE it to you, and you replaced most of the parts. You are also 18 and legally an adult.

Of course it is yours!

Also if things get worse do what this guy says:

Give her an empty case and a cd drive and say "Heres your computer".

If she actualy takes it away add passwords to EVERYTHING (and write them down somewhere) and use the most confusing settings options on your computer.
pure genius.
