Yeah, I feel alienated quite a bit. American, former military, and I'm a bit tired of the political spectrum here. I'm tired of Democrats being called Communists, and I'm tired of Republicans being called Nazis. I'm tired of a two party system that won't allow any third ideology to even debate in the national scene. I'm tired of the political parties pushing some dumb, skewed perspective rather than fighting for the good of the country, like all the rest of my brothers-in-arms are doing right now. All I want is for people to sit down and actually talk, and respect that everyone has a different way of looking at a situation. All the mindless arguing and name-calling and mud-slinging while the military fights for what they believe is right, while the police search for criminals at great personal risk to themselves (like the four policemen that just recently got gunned down in Lakewood, Washington, USA, please pray for/hope for/remember them and their families), like the social activists that try to spread their words on how to make this country a better place no matter what people might say to them. I feel alienated because I'm stuggling to pay my rent and the government jsut gave billions to huge corporations that were squandering money to begin with. Guess what they're doing with it now!
Anyway, I know most of this is old news, but there are many reasons why I feel alienated by my country. The squabbling and the interest in preserving the elite is annoying. Not that I have anything against companies that do well. But if a company does poorly and is going to fall, I don't think re-allocating the money of the poor to the rich is the right answer. I feel alienated because out of my $900 paychecks, $250 goes to the government, and subsequently, to people who are already rich. I need that money more than they do, and I earned it.
