Sure, just keep it tucked away somewhere you only know about it and keep your sights pointed straight at the enemy.

You should tape a big knife under your gun. Problem is solved.

Or, you know, bring a helicopter?
You mean like a bayonet?

I always thought that this was a metaphor for not pointing fingers when your not good of heart, or don't dive into a situation you may not be prepared for. MY mistake.

I disagree... Some guy pulled a gun on my cousin and all he had was a knife and the guy with the gun is dead via the knife. My cousin spent a fair amount of time in prison over it... (Yay, for estranged family strung out on drugs and for living a fair distance away from them.)

I would say that no matter what you bring to a fight you better know how and be willing to use it or you should just stay home.

Depends on how open the field of battle is. If there is lots of cover, narrow halls, sneaky routes of ingress etc. I'd take a knife and try to work things out with superior, stealthier tactics. If it's an open field, you need a gun.

I thought Modern Warfare 2 taught us all how valuable a knife is? Who says a knife doesn't have range?

I want to see this from the other guys perspective. I can imagine him yelling "fuck off commando pro nube!"

Why not both?

One thing.. How do you shoot with that?
And yes, i would bring a knife to a gunfight, when he has to reloade or something, stab him in the hand/leg :D

Pull the trigger..?

Bullets come out.
Yeah.. but where dose the bullet come out? I see a small little thing their at the bullet chamber.. soo can you shoot straight with that`? Shoulden't their be a hole straight through the blade?

I disagree with this statement because it's always good to be prepared for any circumstance, like what if one of the guys gets within stabbing range, if you have a knife then you've got the advantage.
Pretty sure guns still work in knife range.

No, I get what you are saying but a sidearm should be perfectly capable, what you need one for is if you run out of ammo.

OHHH right... well I feel inclined to say it's a weapon from a game, so I'm not sure if it's just a bad picture or if the design isn't complete.

Hahaha, I'm pretty sure there's a hole though.
That is a FF gun right? Look's really cool, but cool dosen't allways work in real life :p

I disagree with this for three reasons:

1. Close-range combat. It is inevitable, and many guns are not suited for melee-range.
2. Jarate + Bushwacka. One-hit kills while they're dripping in urine is always fun.
3. Chargin' Targe + Ullapool Caber. Close into melee-range yourself, then blast him into oblivion with a grenade-on-a-stick.

While it never hurts to have a knife, if you are knowingly walking into a gunfight, it is best to ensure you also bring a gun.

The world at large didn't stop using swords (which are both far more effective in combat than a knife while functionally identical) to resolve disputes because guns were cooler or more fashionable.

There are a number of revolvers known as a snubby (snub nose), they have 1 1/2in or 1in barrels. They are intended to use in close range where aim isn't as much of a concern.

It is primarily a sword after all the reverse combination is far more practical, that combination being a rifle with a bayonet attached. In the end, it's probably the most impractical weapon ever created (aside from the 200lb swords held by 110lb guys) for a JRPG.

Well there goes that thesis right out the window.

The gunblade was not the most functionally well thought-out weapon in Final Fantasy history, but it was definitely unique and cool. In the game when you trigger the gunblade when attacking, or have it set to auto, it actually shoots fire rather than a bullet. There's simply no way to explain how a bullet would not hit the blade unless it is hitting the blade and then splitting into two pieces and firing out at the enemy more as shrapnel than as a bullet; then again, that might be a nice shotgunblade.

Soo you stab him/her and THEN shoot them?
