Yeah.. but where dose the bullet come out? I see a small little thing their at the bullet chamber.. soo can you shoot straight with that`? Shoulden't their be a hole straight through the blade?
There are a number of revolvers known as a snubby (snub nose), they have 1 1/2in or 1in barrels. They are intended to use in close range where aim isn't as much of a concern.

It is primarily a sword after all the reverse combination is far more practical, that combination being a rifle with a bayonet attached. In the end, it's probably the most impractical weapon ever created (aside from the 200lb swords held by 110lb guys) for a JRPG.
Soo you stab him/her and THEN shoot them?
In the game, yes, yes you do.

Depends on the person with the gun.
Some people are actually slightly honourable and wouldn't shoot an unarmed person.
Or even if they're not honourable, they might not see you as a threat, and so just warn you to stay out of the way.
However, if you had the element of surprise, then a knife would certainly be good, if you went for his hand.

How about we replace it with like..."No fights"

I think Demetri Martin deals with this concept quite well.

Ofcourse! I would bring a knife to a gunfight!! I am one of those men who, once shot, return back to life and with a last effort, and throw the knife right into the back of your skull.

[sub]probably not[/sub]

Bring a rocket launcher and you have no need for a knife, but I suppose there's the odd occasion where you don't have a rocket launcher.

I was thinking the same thing. I mean, not having a rocket launcher on you is like not wearing a pair of socks. Sure, you might leave it home every now and then as you might with socks if you're wearing sandals, but typically, most of the year you're going to walk around with your RPG strapped to your back like every other citizen.

You feelin' ok, buddy? Need to lie down maybe? ;p
Hahaha. Yeah I'm good. This 'knife' stuff actually ranks fairly low on my 'weirdness' scale ... or did you mean the thing about the poll question, because trust me, if you read it in the same way I did, it would freak you out too.

Definately never bring a knife to a gunfight. Why even bother with bringing both? It's not like you can't hit somebody up close with your gun anyway.

90% of the people here don't even know HOW to use either weapon in a real fight. Believe me, if you meet with professionals, what you bring won't matter. Using a gun isn't all about pointing and pulling the trigger. Recoil is a big issue in real life, especially with guns that shoot fast. And a newbie handling a knife is more likely to cut himself than his target.

So what can you learn from this? Run.
Frankly, though, a knife will stand more of a chance in close-combat if the other guy has ran out of bullets. Still, basic martial arts training can teach you how to disarm, so it isn't a guarantee.

Unless you do it a la Assassin's Creed style.

Gunfight does not immediately state "shoot-out".

In the event guns are being used as clubs a knife is indeed an advantage.

In the immortal words of Big Boss "In close quarters, a knife can be more useless than a gun."

You don't need years of training to hit the broad side of a barn with a knife. Trust me, the movies lied, shooting a gun is haaaaard =C
Wasn't for me. I was damn close to qualifying sharpshooter the first time I picked up a pistol in boot camp.

Well armies have successfully used bayonets in combat for the best part of 200 years, they didn't become truly obsolete till the widespread adoption of personal fully automatic weapons like submachine guns and assault rifles. Even then, a Bayonet charge in Iraq by British Paras proved to be effective.

So yeah, bring a knife to a gunfight... but attach it to the end of a rifle, even if unloaded.
