It's not that the words are in a video. It's that in order to get the words to solve the captcha, you have to run a video ad. A video ad which is extremely loud, obnoxious, repetitive, and very much at risk of crashing and preventing you from being able to post (given it doesn't crash your whole browser). Frankly, I dont mind the old captchas at all. They aren't as strict as they seem to be. For example, if it asks for an e with a little mark over it and you put in a regular e, it will take it.mjc0961 said:Hey, if the words are in a video, awesome. That means less people posting their images going "what is this" all the time. Yes, we got that captchas have weird characters sometimes the first time someone did it. We don't need you to remind us every page of every thread by posting yours. You constantly posting your captcha images is as annoying to everyone who has to see you post them is as annoying to you as having captchas in the first place.
So video captchas sound great to me, as they'll kill two kinds of spam at once: no more spam bots and no more spam "my captcha gave me something weird!" posts.
Mods don't like adblockers, considering how they remove a source of income. You'll probably get a warning for that or something.jthm said:Nothing played... (just wanted me to type a web address that was shorter than most captchas) maybe adblock saves me yet another headache? I'm tempted to turn it off next time and find out for sure. Hell, I only installed it because of those horrible Dragon Age 2 Splash ads that kept popping up on the site.
Yes, PLEASE can these be gotten rid of just like the last terrible add ones? Please?Blaster395 said:![]()
There is a new captcha by solvemedia that means I have to watch an advertisement video whenever I want to post. I understand banner ads fine, and video ads, but when I am forced to wait to post a piece of text on the internet things have gone to far.
Simple way to handle this: Hit the little refresh button until it comes up with something simpler. Doesn't take long.Blaster395 said:![]()
