If they release this or Conviction for PS3 I'll check it out.
Does anybody know if they plan a PS3 release?
I never got why Double Agent and Conviction aren't on the PS3, it's never been an exclusive before.

So, let me get this straight? They give you a good stealth game with lots of sneaking (that would be Double Agent) but the killing-less sneaking makes you people unhappy.
Then they give you a less-stealthy but more secret agent-like game with lots of killing and badassery. And you're unhappy.
Well, alrightey.
I'm really looking forward to this.
I hated Double Agent (360). There were too many glitches and bugs. I got 100% on every level of Chaos Theory without so much as breaking a light. In Conviction it's literaly impossible to avoid killing on ANY level. That's just bad.
You sure we played the same game?
Glitches and bugs? Well, I must be the luckiest person alive because I didn't encounter any.
Also, about that no-killing argument. Well, you know, there is no reason why Sam Fisher should be a pacifist.
He's not a thief whose main cause is to steal, neither is he a killer who focuses on his target and only his target - he is a spy, an agent, James Bond, he kills constantly because that's what his games are mostly about.
And, btw, it is possible to avoid killing in several levels and there are coop levels that have enemies that you are not authorized to use lethal force against.

But that didn't have the JBA missions, did it? I think only the next-gen versions had them.
And, yes, actually, I can understand why you would want a stealthy Splinter Cell but Splinter Cell was never that much of a stealth game to begin with, imho.
It wasn't as free as Thief or MGS but it WAS stealth. Hell it's easier to shoot your way through MGS than it is in Splintercell (except Conviction >.>). In every Splintercell up to Conviction you could go the whole game without killing anyone.
Umm, if you really want to, you basically can get through Conviction without killing/touching anyone - it's just that the game is not really fun that way.

Hmm, you appear to be right, and the Wii version was the one bundled with the Xbox/PS2/GC while the 360/PS3/PC was another version. I wasn't aware of this.

Intriguing. Dunno how the Gen-7 stuff played then. It seems that Gen-6 was all "flashback" while Gen-7 was played out in the present. What a weird choice to make as far as differences go.
Well, technically, they both had the same basic storyline - however, with different missions and huge character alterations.
The Gen-7 version is canonical, per say.

Haven't played a Splinter Cell game in a long while, but it seems to be a solid series, so I've got no issue with this.

I'm looking forward to it. And to all those people who say it's not a stealth game anymore thats just because you suck at finding alternate routes, because it doesn't throw exactly how to avoid people in your face doesn't mean it took out the stealth element. Just that it added a different way to do it so you have to choose between the two.
