Since I use chrome I guess, youtube hasn't changed in months for me, and I've gotten used to how it looked, except for one thing.

Everytime I open youtube, the video feed is of youtube's recommended videos and not just my subscriptions. Fuck you, Youtube, I don't care what you think I should watch, I know what I want to watch. So every time I open it, I have to click on My Subscriptions. It's just one click, but it's over and over again when they could have just had a setting or something.

For that sole reason, I prefer the previous youtube layout.

What winds me up is that, as you say, when I go on YouTube I have to click to find out what the people I'm subbed to have done, and then click again for uploads only, whereas before that was my YT homescreen. So yeah, it is objectively worse as know more clicks are necessary to get to the content you have personally selected to view.

Remember when you could customize youtube? When you could put what you wanted where you wanted and even remove some aspects entirely?

That was the last good youtube layout in my mind. It was also one of the first ones. I do not understand why youtube needs to change.

I wouldn't mind it so much if it wasn't white and so far left. I'm not even a webpage designed and I'm twitches just looking at all that empty space on the right, it's just so ugly.

As far as the white, are they trying to make us all blind?

So, how come they took something that was simple and good (having a button on top that'd let you go to your faves, subscriptions, view history, etc., and a button above the video so that you can see what else the uploader has uploaded), and just do away with it? What's with this cram everything to the left bullshit? And why do the comments now have the user's user image next to them? The comments are now cluttered to shit.

I didn't like it when YouTube was changed to the last layout, but at least it was functional and easy to navigate. Now... blech.

Yup, the white is goddamn annoying. That's really my only problem with it. Seriously though....How does Youtube STILL not have a "lower lights" button? What is hard about this?
You could always, I don't know, fullscreen? And if the quality is too much for your internet you just turn it down again?

Why do they keep doing this ?? When people get used to the previous layout they change it to another one.
My complaints:
-Too much white, a good part of the screen is just empty
-The top bar with search and logo got smaller the playlist bar looks worse.
-I don't give a shit about recommended videos, why do you keep promoting it at every turn. If I want something I will find it. You could stop dumping celebrity videos into my main page.

P.S. It looks facebook-y (with the portraits and all) and I don't think I like it.

it could do with having less empty space and less white. also i'm not sure about adding the ability to have avatars is good or bad.

but beyond the new layout is just a meh for me. i only remember how the layout looked before the latest change so i don't have much to compare new lay to.

I actually like it, fixed alot of issues I had with previous looks.
Only thing they should patch is that I want my subscribtions (with only uploa activity) as my feed instead of recommended stuff.

For the most part I don't mind the changes, but the size of the ads that they sometimes place at the top of the page bugs me. This new layout clearly has decreased the size of things like buttons and the search bar, so having a massive ad take up so much space amidst smaller-sized pieces sticks out like a sore thumb, and when watching a video it pushes everything down. The first thing that should be catching my eye is the video itself, not an ad.

if you want to only see you're subscriptions, change you're bookmark to: http://www.youtube.com/feed/subscriptions/u

the only thing that really bothers me about the new layout is that i can't figure out how to find my favorites on the main site, now.

They've changed just enough to irritate me without actually altering the experience itself much at all. Yaaay...

Something else I just noticed was the fact that the title is now below the video instead of above it. This isn't a huge problem, but it's rather annoying, especially since I'd usually scroll down so that the title wasn't visible if it was something I didn't want other people to see.

I never liked any of the updates they've made so far but at least they were well organized each time. This is the first update that has actually hampered my ability somewhat to use their site.

I'll be happy if they bring back that long lost feature of "hide the comments".

It's a great layout, I really enjoy going to the home page and having to click 2 more links to get to my subscriptions and their uploads only. It's a solid decision that could only be enhanced by adding more ways to introduce me to youtube subs that I have no interest in. Hmm...wait.

Is Google part of some conspiracy to promote the use of 800x600 monitors?

No?

Then I have no fucking idea what is going on.

It has a loading screen to open up a specific tab on my frontpage. Which also lengthens the URL. I don't enjoy that.

I absolutely hate it, especially when I'm subscribed to a channel that uses similar titles. For example I watch a channel that has "Team Battle..." in a bunch of videos, and I watch one of the new ones and it recommends videos from months ago from the user. If I wanted to watch old videos from the person I'd go to their channel and look for the video. There is absolutely no reason to force another click from users.
