Here's the deal, I'm currently saving for God of War III. Well, I already have the money, but I'm just not spending it till GoWIII comes out and thats for another month, so I need a new game to tide me over till then.

I already have the major Janurary releases (Bayonetta, Darksiders) so I'm really just trying to decide between Heavy Rain and Bioshock 2.

Or should I wait and get FFXIII?

Before you say, "Only you know what you want," let me tell you, I really don't, thats why I'm asking. I expect to like all these games equally and I'm not a fanboy of any particular genre.

The only one I'm really skeptical about is FFXIII since the only FF game I ever really liked was 10.

So which do you recommend? Or did I miss an even better one?

Sigh, you ninja'd my normal response, so I'll give you what my next purchase will be.

I'm definitely getting Bioshock 2 near release day. I came into the first game late but I managed to avoid all spoils somehow and enjoyed myself completely. I'm sure The next one will be terrific and hopefully it'll continue a trend of good story within videogames.

Oh, and if you want a game that will last you forever and you're a completionist or you really like SRPGs (Think Final Fantasy Tactics) then you'd love Disgaea. Damned good game that lasted me a year. There's 2 on the PSP and 1 on the PS3. They're hilarious an fun.

I'm going to sleep this month, and then enjoy Bad Company 2 when the full version arives! (me and a friend already played the beta to death and more, I just can't get enough of the blowing stuff apart!) Anyway, if you like Battlefield and you have some dosh, why not BC2 preorder? =P

If you're really just deciding between Heavy Rain and Bioshock 2, I'd advise you to go with the latter. I sense that aside from the impressive graphics Heavy Rain will turn out to be a basket of farts.

Also, what about Dante's Inferno and AvP? Both are scheduled for release this month, and both look pretty fun - to me, at least.

Dante's Inferno is exactly like God of War and I'm already getting that.

I didn't know there's a new AvP game. Is it for PS3?

I'd get heavy Rain out of those choices but if you like JRPG's their is White Knight Chronicles(Feb 2 or 4) which I myself plan to get after I get my birthday money.

That's what I [i/]wanted[/i] to get and I had my sights set on it for quite some time, but the early reviews I've seen haven't really been that good. I don't let reviews determine what I buy, but I use them as just sort of a basis.

They weren't bad reviews, just... average I guess. Mainly 8/10s and nothing much higher.

Heavy Rain, because I'm getting it. And I like Jak and Daxter.

But seriously, GoWIII sounds like the best bet.

Yeah I've seen that too. Its making me a little skeptical as well, but I figure with average scores it should still be worth a shot. That and the fact my last JRPG was Crisis Core so I could really use something to scratch that itch.

I say rent both Bioshock 2 and Heavy Rain. That way you don't lose 60 dollars on something you may not like.

I would say keep saving and don't buy anything, or pick up something from the bargain rack at your local game store. You get to save money, and if you find a gem, great! If not, at least it was cheap.

Dunno if this helps you, but I hear FF13 has something similar to the sphere grid from FF10.

True. My last dose of JRPG action was probably... Kingdom Hearts 2. Unless you count Demon's Souls.

So yeah, I'm in need of JRPGs, but hopefully, White Knight will turn out to be amazing and I'll enjoy FFXIII just as much as I did 10.

I'm not listening to scores much anyway. I mean, KH2 is one of my all time favorite games yet that got I think a 7/10 from a bunch of people.

I'm still skeptical though when I saw that the story doesn't go anywhere for 20 hours.
