I've been reading some stuff on Tv Tropes Wiki, and the page describing Nineties claims that "people are as nostalgic towards them as towards fifties". Not that i consider that wiki to be a reliable source on anything, but i wanted to do a little poll here. I ask you, all of you:

Any nostalgia towards the Nineties? And if so - what are the things you're nostalgic about?

I can't say much on that time, not being from USA or Europe. I sort of dislike it, but miss the cartoons made back then. Angry Beavers, the early (good) episodes of Spongebob... awesome.

The first wave of nostalgia tends to go in roughly 20-25 year cycles. So yes, the time is becoming ripe for 90s nostalgia. Whether that's a good thing or not, I'll leave that for others to debate.

The time before everything became a global network and games could still surprise you.

I do miss those days.

Of course, those were the days I grew up in. Games were finally becoming awesome, music wasn't corny, films were epic, it was a good time.

I truly miss the 90's a time where political correctness wasn't a scare tactic and a cartoon could be about anything rather than some random teenage douche magically getting a power or some emo twat ranting about stuff that made them cry.

Agreed. I think the 90s had some of the best cartoons. Animaniacs, Batman TAS, Bravestarr (in the early 90s), Earthworm Jim, Freakazoid, Beast Wars... Heck even the original Power Rangers was so campy it was enjoyible.

Now everything is a crappy remake or worse, more of the same just lame because the cash-cow was milked bone dry a decade ago.

I would think that the 80s are way more nostalgic that the 90s...or even the 00's. There were some amazing cartoons and I'm pretty sure that is when some amazing R&B and Rap artists came out on the scene which really changes music.

Also, some CRAZY gaming happened in the 90s...but can that be considered more nostalgic that the NES in the 80s...difficult to say.

Ah yes, so many memorable things like....uhm....my birth! Yay! That and Y2K, which is making a comeback because Sony can't make a decent calender for the ps3.

I suppose I qualify as having 90s nostalgia, considering I just named my new laptop Thunderquack, because it was the most ridiculous duck-themed name I could come up with (wanted to go with ducks, since the money for it was inherited from my grandma when she died, and she liked ducks). If you don't get it, you probably haven't spent enough time in the 90s.

The most nostalgic thing about the nineties was the seventies nostalgia, a style that itself was heavily influenced by fifties nostalgia.

There is a large amount of quality entertainment stuff from the nineties even though a lot of the popular stuff was terrible.

I was born in 1993, so I can't really feel nostalgia for the decade. However, like most people, I can feel nostalgia for the TV shows and movies I watched as I grew up, regardless of how good they actually were.

Considering the largest age group in developed nations was born around 91 (The most common age of gamers, don't believe the lie! The average gamer is not 30!), 80s is old people stuff, not nostalgia. 90's became nostalgic when 2000 hit and everything got a little less extreme.

Well, seeing that I spent the 90s as a prepubescent child in a country that's been rather fucked up during the 90s and in no way reflects the 90s people experienced in North America... I can only be as nostalgic about the 90s as I can be about the 80s - most of the shit is imagined and never actually experienced by me, and things like music and movies don't necessarily reflect on the times completely.

90s had some good shows I was lucky enough to see later, in 2000s. Daria. MTV not being complete shit. A few similar things. Yeah.

Oh, and a bunch of mid-late 90s video games, I still play them and am a rather big fan... Dune 2000 (came out in 98, I believe) Heroes of Might and Magic 2 and 3, Warcraft 2, Populous: The Beginning, Doom 1&2, the original Unreal Tournament... And a bunch of other things.

But then again I don't hold too many misconceptions about things not being shit as they usually are, no matter the decade (the 60s were so great 'cause everyone was high! hurrr)

But yeah, you can put me in as "nostalgic", I suppose. A lot of the things I love happened in the 90s.

And, uh, Nirvana is one of my favorite bands. Which says a lot about my taste to certain annoying hipsters today.

Now I was born in 86, so I missed most of the 80s and was too young to remember a lot of stuff - but the 80s DID have some excellent cartoons.

However, to me, the contrast here is that in the 80s cartoons almost entirely existed to market toys. Carebears, transformers, TMNT, GI Joe, hell even ghost busters (my personal favorite when I was a wee tot according to my mother). Whereas in the 90s the cartoons existed mainly for their own sake, this gave them a little more freedom and creativity, in my opinion anyways.

Die Hard 2. Bruce Willis destroys an airplane with a zippo, that's fairly nostalgic. Also censorship seems a lot more chillz back then. It'll probably go down as the era of boy bands but I still liked it, it's when I grew up. The last piece of nostalgia from the 90s was going out to play and people being unable to harass you from anywhere since cell phones didn't exist back then.

Being born in '87 and growing up in the 90's, yes I am nostalgic.

It was when I discovered music, gaming and movies.
The rise of the internet, no hysteria about terrorism and no global warming.

What's there not to love?
