Do you think a 15 year old freshman girl obbsessed with the asain culture is a little strange? She brings the yugiho duel disk arm accessory to school and also trys to get all of my friends to play pokemon on there DS's. Again is that a little weird?

Sometimes people act strange to stand out. Sometimes their are just weird. Think this example is the latter.

Each to their own, m'love!
As long as she's not hurting anyone, leave her to it. She'll probably grow out of it anyway.

Liking perceived japanese culture is quite common, and that's what it is.
They are often called Weeaboos. And yes, she's taking it too far, trying to influence others. If it was just herself, I honestly couldn't care less; everyone has their own eccentricities.

I'd say she's a little strange, but I've seen and heard worse. If she's not too bad of a person, I wouldn't make a deal of it.

I have a male friend like that.

He plays yu-gi-oh, and says random phrases in Japanese... frequently asking people if they're dolphins

so yeah, basically the male version of a Weeaboo

She's 15, and a girl.

Guys are expected to mature faster or else be labled as nerds. Girls on the other hand can be as goofy for a much longer time.

I dont know i used to know a lot of 22 yr olds still doing that. After a certain age it doest get a bit strange.
Wow >.<
Depends who you know, I guess.
My boyfriend and his mate are a bit weird like that.
His mate works at my school too. He stares at me and wheezes all the time. Weird.

Weeaboo is a gender-neutral term.
It started due to some forum censoring the term Wapanese, so someone started calling people Weeaboos, and it stuck.

That's not how it started.

No, some teenagers like Twilight, or videogames, or the internet, or sports, or being emo, or being jocks, or etc etc etc.

They could have not mentioned the age and we could have guessed about the right age.
