I've pre-ordered Flashpoint and will probably get ARMA as well, but I need to replace my 360 which has just died out of warranty.

I've not played OFP2

I love ARMA2 though. I like realistic and immersive militray games. It's pretty nice to play a game that uses tactics instead of simply running around shooting with ease and it's fun to co-operate online. I love the editor most of all though. It's really fun to play around with.

Well, If you think about it, army helmets could stop a bullet, but the person could still be injured. Just saying.
Well I know there are numerous cases of this being true, a rifle round will penetrate both sides of a kevlar helmet. You need to have ceramic plates to reliably stop a rifle round and those are located in the chest.

In the community of Arma II we regard OFP2 as the call of duty version of arma. We play for realism while OFP will go for the arcade aspect.

OPF2 will be a military version of Rainbow Six Vegas 2, without the cover system.

Yeah I for some reason didnt like ArmA or the original OFP that much. I do enjoy playing Americas Army every so often though.

Theres just something about these two I dislike, cant put my finger on it. Probably im just too lazy to get good at them.

In OFP2 there is not hud whats so ever. So guess what? you have to remember how many rounds are in your weapon plus theres no magical GPS map,so your gonna have to bust out a compass and a map to know where you are cause its time to put those boy scout lesson to use.

ARMA 2 will be a better simulator, but OFP2 will be a better game. I doubt that you'll have to run 10 minutes through the map to encounter three enemies.

How can someone have possibly not heard of Operation Flashpoint? It's one of the greatest games ever made.
It was also a military Battlefield simulator, which was pretty interesting.

But nay, I'll take my FPS with a side of unrealism, and go for MW2, Borderlands, and Red Steel 2.

If I must pick one of these...ARMA 2 because of that head tracking technology, it's absolutely insane.

There really is no comparison. Arma 2 is the true successor to the OFP legacy.

OFP2:DR is truly pathetic. It must be an incredible experience on the Xbox being as they don't have many large scale combat games like this, but when Codemasters says "This is the most realistic game you will ever play" they have obviously been smoking crack because their idea of realism is way off.

Nations around the globe use a form of Arma to train their troops with, and it receives much praise from those who use it. If OFP2 were used to train any army, it would have about as much chance in a war as an army of lollipop ladies battling the Mongolian horde.

If this weren't titled Operation Flashpoint, this might have been a perfectly entertaining, if rather limited and dull, game. However because it claims to be both realistic and a continuation of a much loved war simulation game, they have failed so miserably it pains me to admit I have it sitting on my desk.

Off with the gloves, I don't know what the fuck Codemasters was thinking. I think what happened was they had some retarded moron who ran an OFP fansite "guiding" them on how the fans would like the second game to be. If this is the case that fat twat has not only borked what could have been a fantastic title, he has also murdered his chances of continuing a career in the games industry.

It sort of reminds me of when Homer's long lost brother asked him to design a car to break his company out of a rut.

I loved ArmA2, even though the voices were terrible. Could you not have just hired a few voice actors, rather than computerizing them and making my ears bleed? Operation Flashpoint doesn't look to be as good a simulator, but I haven't actually played it, so I'm going to refrain from voting.
