To the lab!

Using myself as a test subject, I will attempt to find something that can stop the zombie transformation in its tracks. I will also lock myself in said lab, giving the only key to a trusted friend who will only let me out if I call him/her and prove myself to be non-zombified. Thus, if I end up as a zombie, I will be locked away where I can't cause any harm.

Well, I'd like to say that I would kill myself, but I have no idea what "real" zombies would be like. Maybe it turns out that the zombie virus is only temporary, or maybe there is a really simple cure, or maybe being a zombie is totally awesome. So I would try to lock myself up somewhere where I wouldn't hurt anyone, and just wait for a cure.

Other:

What sort of zombies are we talking here?

Airborne mutagenic virus zombies, a la Resident Evil movies? If this is the case then the fact that I survived the initial infection suggests that I have an immunity to the zombie virus. If you are immune to smallpox it doesn't matter whether you breathe it in, drink it or someone with smallpox bites you, you won't get it, despite some methods being obviously more alarming than others. If this is the case then I still need to go to a hospital because the necrotised flesh of the zombie, plus the diseases in the mouth mean that I'd need to be careful of infection from normal viruses, but not the zombie virus.

Traditional West Indies zombie, as animated by a bokor? If this is the case then as long as the bite doesn't kill me I don't have to worry (see above for dealing with normal infection) A bokor can only reanimate the dead, and the curse doesn't spread at all.

Infection spread solely through bites? Again, there's always a chance of immunity, but still, it's about what I can afford to lose to survive a zombie apocalypse. Losing one arm is fine because I can still hold, fire and load a pistol one handed, plus opening doors, eating and other concerns, but losing a leg presents more of a problem, because then I have to think about getting around the place. Probably if it came to that I'd amputate the leg as fast as possible, then see if survival still looked likely (probably by holing up somewhere well fortified and waiting for the military to roll in)

The only reason zombie movies have any elements of horror to them are a combination of Hollywood science and mass holding of the idiot ball. A basic understanding of viruses lets you know whether you have the potential for immunity or not, and after that any knowledge of field medicine and weapon handling and you'd be basically completely okay unless you got surrounded.

And if the Hollywood science really had come to life and animated these zombies, then I'd still hang on. Having been alive while everyone else was becoming a zombie would have given me a chance to see what the transformation process looked like, so I'd know whether I was undergoing it, and would probably kill myself. If there were no symptoms except just keeling over dead one second and raising the next, then at least I probably wouldn't be self aware anymore, so I'm as good as dead anyway.

Applying science to zombie settings never goes well.

Well no one adjusts easily to such large changes in life but given time I think I could come to live with my new brain eating, fleash rotting self. I even look forward to forcing my friends and family to either blow my head off or be nomd on as I have every faith they will rise to the ocasion and be stronger for it. Otherwise, well, if I can adjust to zombie life, I'm sure they can XP

Well, I seem to be pretty much immune to most forms of disease - there's a fair to middling chance that I'd be safe from the zombie virus too. If we're assuming some kind of magical transmission of zombie-ness, then saying "I don't believe in fairies" frequently should fix it.

So I'm just kinda assuming that I'll be fine. Being a zombie doesn't sound like all that much fun, anyway

i would probably take my own life if i had a gun and if i couldnt sever my own spine of give myself massive brain trauma or ask a non infected freind or family member to put me out of my misery if i was alone and no way to end it all i would embrace my need to feed and make the most it hoping someone shoots me before i attack a non infected.

Err am I by myself or are there human along side me? If I by myself I would try to trap myself (fall down a well or something?) so I won't infect anyone else since I don't have the guts to blow my head off.
If there are other humans with me I would plea with them to end my life so I don't turn into them and their brains etc.

One of two things:

1. Go down fighting, kill as many zombies as possible. Since I have nothing to lose, I will have no fear, and if movies have taught me anything, this will randomly transform me into a badass.
2. Go with it. Hell, maybe I'll be cured before one of my loved ones kills me with a shotgun.

If I was in some kind of a movie, I'd spend my time in a lab trying to figure out a cure. With my current skill set, I'd go on a spree hunting down zombies for as long as I can, before killing my self in order to not hurt anyone else.

OR

I would watch My little pony until the overflow of magic and friendship and general cuteness would cure me of the disease. :D

Pump myself full of antibiotic and other drugs, then wait and hope for the best.

Go to the group
Let them remove my teeth.
Have them chain me down.
Have test subject availeble when they find military base.
Also an emergansy gun if a break loose.

That i way i can remain usefull even after i turned into a retarded drooling hunk of meat.
If the group is about to be overrun i will distract the zombies and blow myself up when it gets a bit too crowded.

I always thought that if you stopped the infection soon enough, you could get zombie abilities without being a full term zombie. Like if a zombie bit my leg and I chopped it off and replaced it with a prosthetic before I got full term zombified, maybe I could run faster or have better senses.

Well, step one is to bite back.
Well, if a zombie biting a human turns human into a zombie;
then, a human biting a zombie should turn a zombie into a human.

time for a test...

Personally since I am a vampire, I'm pretty sure that I'm immune to the zombie virus. If not, then you better hope I don't find a werewolf. The last thing you want is a zombie-vampire-werewolf running around.
