I'm the only one to vote ps3... apparently because I'm the only one to HAVE a ps3, at least i am in my circle of friends.
all pretty much the same really, depends on what you want, if your going to get blazeblue for each anyway, maybe look at the other things he might like for each?
Voted too, the Wii is for kids and the 360 only has like 3 interesting exclusives. Almost everything is multiformat there.

In my opinion he should get a Wii. Because Ya' got Tatsunoku .VS. Capcom, No More Heroes and just about every pre Playstation game ever made for like 5 bucks a pop.
So one official Wii is the rough equivalent of twelve bootleg consoles.

Well if he likes retro games then the Xbox Live marketplace is full of them. I can't speak for the ps3 though, since I don't know if it's the same deal. However, if he already has a gaming PC then I'd probably go for one of the other 2 consoles (probably ps3). Nearly every game that's on the 360 is on the PC aswell.

If it were me, I'd say 360. However, I know nothing about 2-D fighters or which consoles they're best on, so I really have no idea.
same here, also the 360 is probabally most veratile out the 3 consoles, because its getting the most games and has the middle of the line graphics ats the middle of the line price

I'd actually say the Xbox 360 in this case. Purely because of Natal.
Is there anything similar coming out for the PC?

Depends on what you want to get out of him buying a console. If he gets a 360 you'll be more able to play each other online, but if you're more the kind of guys that get over to each other's houses and game then it really doesn't matter.

Also depends on what he likes to play aside from 2D fighters, the Wii has a significantly different library of games compared to 360/PS3.

Also you might want to factor in the 360 wireless adapter into the price, depending on how far his 360 can be placed from the computer.

Xbox 360, simply because it's cheaper than the PS3, less of a novelty item than the wii, and there are loads of games to try out.

I would be saving for one if I could!

im a nintendo fan, have SNES, 64 Gcube and Wii, but i feel the Wii is a bit of a let down honestly. theyve tried to make extremely family orientated, but in my eyes its just not as good as their previous consoles. if i could change the day i got my Wii and change it for a ps3 or xbox, i would, and i feel really cut for saying that =,(

also, gamecube was underated, GO WINDWAKER!

Last gen there was no choice - almost all major fighting game series and most arcade games were on the PS2. Now the 360 holds that position. PS3 does well too. The Wii's selection is quite limited and there is no choice in arcade sticks either, so I'd steer clear or it.

In comparison to the PS3, the 360 has e.g. the better VF5 version, the better SSF2THDR version, and a good amount of titles like Ikaruga, Garou and MvC2 on XBLA. If you stick to arcade-ish games, I believe this is the way to go. Most of the big budget titles that are FPS/RPG/RTS have a superior counterpart or port or original on the PC, so a PC owner has no need to mess with them.

The PS3 has more hassle-free and polished hardware, and the compatibility with standard USB/Bluetooth gear is nice. Big budget titles are more interesting due to having little overlap with PC. Singstar is a proven party game for mixed gamer and non-gamer company.

I've heard a whole set of awesome games have come out or are coming out exclusive to the PS3, and even as an XBOX 360 owner myself, I have to admit, I'm a bit jealous. This is probably one of the best times to get a PS3.

Xbox 360: Count all the 360 games that are 'truly' exclusive - i.e. not on PS3, not on Wii, not on PC. How many are there? Are they worth it? Me, as I also have a gaming PC, do not want to spend a few hundred bucks on a console just to be able to play Halo 3, Gears 2 and Viva Pinata. Live is a good system, undeniably, but it still doesn't beat PC online functions.

PS3: Heavy Rain, God of War, Metal Gear, Infamous - these are games you don't get on any other platform. Also, there's blu-ray, which is a plus as soons as the fucking discs get cheaper (30 bucks for a movie, jesus...) Downside, I've heard, is the online part - don't know whether you friend cares about that. I don't, for online multiplayer I have my PC.

Wii: There ARE some good games out there on this platform. Resident Evil 4, Zelda: TP, Mario, Metroid, Okami, No More Heroes, House of the Dead, Mortal Kombat, Dead Rising, The Conduit (there are more but I think you get my point). If you use the console as a kind of 'secondary platform', like me, you'll be happy with it. The controls on those games are perfectly responsive, too.

360 hands down, I've got and played many games on all three consoles and the 360 was the best to play, I just love the feel of it and I hate song, so it works.
