I've never played it on Wii, so I don't know how well the controls were ported, but I can vouch for PS3 being awesome. Some people say the drawing mechanism was tough on the PS3, but the game pauses while you paint, so it's not like it matters.

Either way, if you haven't played Okami - you are in for an absolute fucking treat.

Ps2 Brauh both versions look pretty much the same but I imagine the Wii controls would get old fast.

Thank you, from what I've read seems like ps2 has the lead because of the gameplay.

I only have it for my PS2, but the controls didn't take long to get use to.
I'm not entirely sure I'd even like it for the Wii, a lot of the motion controls are awkward for me and distract from the gameplay.

So would you reccomend me renting it for the wii?

Uhhh... did you even read the thread?

Well done there, you completely missed the point of the Poll. The OP is asking whether he should buy a specific game on one of two consoles, not which console to buy. I can only assume that you just skipped the actual "reading" part of posting in a thread and went straight onto the typing based on the words "Wii or PS2".

OT : Wii. The controls are better, it looks much nicer and the game was given an overhaul.

A rent wouldn't be a bad idea at all, at least that way you can test it first and buy it later (or just beat it in one shot over the rental period if you're so inclined).

The Wii seems like it would be more fun to play on. But the Ps2 version is just as good.

I should point out that finishing it in a single rental period is not an easy thing to do. It's a long game.

As for Wii vs PS2, I haven't played the PS2 version. However, the controls for the Wii version are pretty damn good - I don't care what anyone else says, drawing with the Wiimote felt right. The only gripe - and it's a big one - I have with the controls is the combat. You have to rhythmically shake the Wiimote for most weapons to get any degree of efficiency out of it. Sometimes it fails to register completely. Fortunately, the rosary beads are very effective with the Wiimote, so it's not as though the game is unplayable.

EDIT: Another thing I'll point out: For copyright reasons, the Wii version lacks the credits sequence. This is not an insurmountable issue, because it's easily available on Youtube (and it's a damn good one as credit sequences go), but it is incredibly jarring to be sent back to the title screen after the last cutscene without even so much as a "You're Winner!"

Your the first one to actually say the gameplay is better than the ps2 version. By the way, what do you mean as in better?

Well, if you're used to the Wii controls then I find them much smoother and more responsive than the PS2 controls. They are functional, the Playstation controls, but I personally find the Wii controls easier and faster.

As soon as you mentioned rythm with wiimote I panicked, well seems to me it's worth to experience the wii one.

PS2.

The pin point precision required to draw some things can get a little messed up if your arm is as jittery as mine when playing the Wii.

I much prefer an analogue stick. But they're pretty much the same game, damn fine on either platform, so it really comes down to which console has to control scheme that suits you.

The Wii controls are excellent, with two caveats:
Play in a dark room. Sunlight makes the Wiimote jittery.
Only use one kind of weapon. The shaking controls aren't precise enough.

If you do that, it's fine.
