I'm not sure whether my organs would be any good, seeing as they're riddled with Ehlers-Danlos.
But I signed up anyway, 'cause hey, what the hell am I supposed to do with them once I've kicked the bucket?

I will answer both of your questions with a short story
In a 3rd world country called the Philippines There lived a boy named ************ he was poor hungry and lived in slums that both of you cannot imagine.
Then one day, a man came and offered him P1000 (equivalent to $20) for him to give one of his organs.
The Boy, was overjoyed! he gave the man his kidney, while he got P1000, enough for him to buy rice and fish for him and his family for at most a month.
The Kidney was then put on to the body of a 70 year old man who paid the doctor 5 million dollars for the organ.

I live in the Philippines, things like these happen everyday. My "Government" does half-hearted attempts to stop this but cannot, due to this old men paying for their salary.
I refuse to give anything of myself to the kind of Government that does.
It is of course different in your countries, but this is the case in mine.

A few weeks ago, while walking around Glasgow, I was wandering through the train station when I nearly tripped over a small woman carrying a clipboard. She thrust it up towards my face, saying "Would you like to become an organ donor?!". That's exactly what I did. I filled out her little form and bam, within 30 seconds I had signed my organs away to be fired into someone else should I die. That's a very blunt way of putting it but it's essentially true. Because of my age, she told me to make sure that my immediate family were aware of this fact. When I told my mum and step-dad, there was a contrast in opinions on the subject.

The questions I pose to you are:
Are you an organ donor?
If so, why? If not, why not?
If you want to be an organ donor, why aren't you one already?

No, i am not an organ donor, and do not intend to be one.
Reason you say? I'll make it simple....I care more about my organs than the lives of most humans on this planet (and i'm 15 and technically is illegal to do so.....i think).
The reason people give their organs is either for
1. They hate their organs
2. They do it for money
3. For a loved one
4. They are delusional about something
That is the only reason i came up with so.......yeah.
Also....WHY did you sign the Form??

I can whole-heartedly say that's what I want to do. In a leaflet I was given, if I was to die in a road accident with all my organs intact, I could save the lives of up to 8 people. If I'm pretty much gone anyway, I may as well give up my organs to people who stand a chance.

I don't blame you for wishing to keep your insides to yourself, there's definitely an injustice going on there, but in my country, they won't take anything until they're sure you're dead and your organ is only ever given to someone who needs it, ie. not a 70 year old man who is, for lack of a better expression, on his way out as it is.

I think there might be some confusion about what organ donation is. The organ donation OP and most other people here are talking about occurs after death; if you die and your heart/liver/what have you are not damaged, they are harvested from your body and given to someone else. Some people become organ donors while they're alive, but that's rarer and usually between people who know each other; for instance, my biology teacher in high school donated a kidney to his sister.

Also, in the US at least, there's no age limit on becoming an organ donor. I've been one since I was 16 and checked the little box on my driver's license. I don't see any point to keeping my bits and bobs to myself if I'm not using them anymore, although I, too, would rather keep my eyes. There's something vaguely disturbing about the thought of my eyes being taken out.
