Poll: paintball vs. airsoft

Basically, I'm only wearing one layer of thin, camouflaged clothing on top of nothing... (Not counting my boxers, obviously), because it's too fucking hot otherwise, so yeah, I can feel it. Even more fun after getting hit, and you still feel the remaining mid-air bullets trace a way up to your leg to your nutsack.
And as already said by me and others, airsoft guns look a lot nicer.. I'd rather have a customizable little bastard than a huge... toy-looking goofball : |
But, seeing where you're from I can get why you'd rather want paintball.. (I hope those don't have the funny little orange things on the end of the barrel that people need in order to not be paranoid? xD; )

Actually, the days of Paintball guns looking like toys is past. Most modern paintball markers (except for the hopper usually) look very much like real weapons. Many quality paintball guns are also highly modable, just travel over to the Tippman site and that'll show you a plethora of options. Tippman also make paintball grenades, and get this: Trip Wires. P.S: Those funny orange things? Are you talking about the barrel sock/Condom? Thats to protect against misfires? Or are you asking about something else?

Also, while I won't accuse anyone of cheating, its all to easy not to notice that you've been hit when the adrenelin is pumping. Its quite possible that people get his and simply do not notice that they've been hit. Therefore I'm voting paintball.

I've never played paintball, so correct me if i'm wrong, but after you've taken a few hits won't it be easy to cheat and just say that the paint was from the previous round.

obviously your guns weren't good enough. i have welts on me from two weeks ago. I also know that several people from that same game lost teeth. Airsoft also has a lot more realism to it.

I find both games really fun. I've only played Paintball once though but I do have a collection of airsoft guns.

Usually, Airsoft, but those Rap 4 or Rav 4 paintball guns, those are awesome. They even eject casings!

I'm not much a fan of FPS even when there's a controller involved. Airsoft and Paintball are like that, but with pain involved.

in my experience i would go with airsoft as paint-ball is more arena type maps while airsoft is a entire wood or village. Also airsoft has cooler looking guns

For the Guys who are saying that Airsoft hurts less than paintballing, what FPS are you using? Most of the games i run at are at 400-450 range, and those gits hurt at hell of alot when hit, saying that i do wear light clothing, so i might feel it a bit more than most.

I like airsoft, it is cheaper than paintball and hurts less, with almost the same experience, and a greater realism... sort of.

Never played airsoft, although a friend of mine who plays regularly says it's a hell of a lot of fun. If you want more tactical, more realistic fighting then I'd say airsoft would be better

Airsoft would probably be more fun but I've only ever paintballed.

It sucked that I couldn't hit for shit after 30 feet and bushes could deflect the shots. Airsoft: I'm going to have to get into it.

Neither... real ammunition. And only against people that are total wankers. This way they're out of your life and you at least finished them off in some moderately awesome fashion.

Does anyone remember the scene from Child's Play 3 when Chucky switched the kids' rifle blanks with real bullets? This made me think of that.

That second picture there is why i laugh at anyone who tells me their airsoft guns don't look like toys. They do look like toys and they way they're used they are toys. Paintball = honest about it XD

OT:

The airsofters in this thread surprise me. Do you guys really think speedball is the only thing paintballers do?

I just like the look of the terrain after a paintball battle. It really shows where the combat was. Aside from that paintball it shorter range, making for much more hectic match's than airsoft. People also have to keep a tab on their ammo.

What i've found with airsoft is that they'll go around a corner and spray 20-30 bullets at someone when "bunker busting". Paintballers refine doing a "2-3" shot combo rather than 20-30, and i enjoy the progessionalism of people who practise that.

Plus, bottom of the mask shots spraying vegetable oil into their mouths is hilarious.

I'll never understand people who choose airsoft for the "realisticness" of the guns. Its a game, treat it like it XD

I'm not really sure. I've only ever played airsoft, but Paintball is more popular, thus easier to find people who play, so you can get games easier.

Airsoft however, has more realistic weapons, and is cheaper. But, it's harder to find people who play, unless you know where to look.

So really, they're probably even.

They're still both just games though, so it doesn't really matter.
