I recently bought a game called "Crash time 2" off of steam (for cheap :)) and noticed the split screen support, which was wonderful, and went on to play my mates over and over on it.

But I found myself asking why more PC games dont include a split screen, I mean there alot of fun to play and can be useful for people with only one "good" pc in their home.

So, what do you think? Should we have more Co-Op on PC?

EDIT: Yes, Split screen Co-Op, not online/LAN
EDIT EDIT: (I really didnt think it through :p) I have four gamepads to use with my PC, so the control scheme really isnt a problem, though I can see with a mouse/keyboard combo it becomes a problem.

Split screen co-op, right? We need more of it. On everything.

Because there is shitloads of online co-op.

We have Co-Op. It's called "LAN". Having it on one computer is restrictive, it means that generally you have to split the keyboard which restricts how much freedom you have over control schemes and what you can do with a game (any mouse control? How do you handle that?)

Co-Op games shouldn't be handled on one PC unless they're the kind with gamepad support, at which point, why not just play on a console since the M+K controller scheme would be worse than a gamepad to begin with.

Dawn of War 2 and Red Alert 3 were both PC games with co-op as far as I recall, both used LAN or the internets. As they should.

I've got a hard time imagine it, cause unless you can plug 2 mice/keyboards in your comp your controlls are very limmited. Try playing HoN, L4D, or any otehr co-op game with a shared mouse/keyboard.

I think i'll stick with Co-OP games which i can play online or over LAN, don't really wanan sit with my friends on my lab either.

Guess i should've read before i voted, i thought it was just co-op, and not specifically split screen.

For crash time, I was using a gamepad (15 quid ones of amazon), but they worked fine, and I find it hard to split screen on consoles due to the lack of screen space or the dulled down graphics, or even the smaller screens (looking at you world at war). On a PC you can go to much high resolutions and keep the graphics, thats why I would like to see more PC Co-Op + its a laugh with a mate, and you dont have to be in a seperate room, on a different PC like with LAN.

I can't run much on my PC, can't even run L4D at minimum. So, I have absolutely nothing that I can play online on my PC.

Why do you need a separate room?

My brother and I piss away a lot of time and money on games if they are co-op. We've played a ton but didn't really care for army of two, probably because a shooter shouldn't be played with a noobstick.

For LAN, my brothers PC is in a room across the hallway so doing LAN completley removes the fun factor for me, as I cant see the person im playing with, and may aswell be doing online.

You could just move one of the PCs...

Two PC's in one room? Theres barely enough space in each room for the PC's as it is. (There in bedrooms btw).

I made a thread asking this question a while ago. I don't see why there isn't split-screen support on PCs. They have the processing power and an ungodly amount of USB ports, as well as compatibility with TV screens.

I agree, and even though I put Co-Op as the title, I just think we need more splitscreen altogether.

I think the last game I played on the PC that had something resembling Split-Screen Co-Op wasa Star Control 3 ages and ages ago, and that was only really in the Melee Battle mode, so not really even Co-Op.

Being on a 17" screen I think a split-screen game for this computer would be a bit hard to follow.

That's why you use a different room. It's not hard to get 4 PCs on one table.
Im sorry if i sound a bit like an idiot, but I dont follow? You want to put four PC's on one computer desk, then hook them up to four different monitors. That would be a dream setup for alot of people :D, But PC gaming is already laughed at as it is for costing alot for PCs, for that setup you need alot of space and alot of money.

That's why your friends bring their own hardware over and you let them use what you can spare for example I have 2 monitors, to make it easier for them, I let them borrow it for the time being.
How close do your friends live to bring round a PC when they want to play like that? Because PC's arent generally light.
