Up until very recently I had my own webspace that I used to host all the images I was posting on forums and linking to and all that good noise. Well recently I had to let that space go and am just now entering the world of photobucket. Only to find I can not. I initially uploaded all 500 of my images to them only to come back a scant hour later to find I had apparently become the moderators pet ***** or something.
90% of my images are removed with the violation notice junk in their place. All the ones that were removed were relatively harmless while some of the stuff I actually expected to be removed in the case of moderator intervention have remained.
What is going on over at photobucket where a picture of an ex girlfriend standing at a bar, doing nothing untoward and wearing all her clothing, which was even dry at the time. Gets removed, and this little gem remains.

I mean really why can't I upload a cute picture of a puppy but I can upload other things that I fully expected to be removed but yet they remain.
I have to wonder if the people at photobucket even look at the images or just randomly remove things to it appears as if they are doing their job.
Anyhow, the reason I am posting this is out of curiosity as to whether anyone else has been essentially destroyed by photobucket.

Photobucket has only ever deleted stuff that deserved to be deleted from my account, so I can't sympathise, sorry

I really do have the feeling I was singled out for some reason. I have friends that have used it for years and don't suffer from my problems there. Heck some of them have the same images on their accounts I was attempting to add to mine and were deleted.
Is it possible the bulk upload somehow drew excessive moderator attention or something?

This is actually made worse by the fact the machine holding all of said images recently died on me and I can no longer access them locally.

I've used Photobucket for many years, to host IRL pics and gaming stuff. Never had any troubles with it. It was so much better before though, too much advertising and hassle compared to before.

I only really use it to post pictures on this site. And it's been going fine for me.

I've never had any problems with it, but if you don't like it, try a different site, like imageshack.

Perhaps when the moderator went to delete your stuff, they thought that all of the things they had checked were the good ones, while the stuff that wasn't checked was deleted... And it turned out they were completely wrong. That's the only thing I can think of. I mean, you say they took down a picture of a puppy? Was the puppy being strangled in some way? I see no reason for them to take a picture of a puppy down, but keep your coke picture.

Sorry they're being annoying. You could ask them about it, I suppose. I just use image shack. I don't need to make an account to upload pictures there.

I've only had one picture removed from my photobucket and that was a picture of Hitler. So yeah bad for you, try re-uploading them it could just be a glitch maybe.

I've only had one of my images deleted from Photobucket, and it was porn/hentai. I don't think they do a bad job...

actually I did try redoing a handful of them
all removed
even the smilies I made for myself and friends on msn messenger.
I mean jesus what's that about?

You know I honestly wouldn't think I had room to complain if it was only a few things that I could find some sort of fault with.
That's not really the case though, out of everything that's been pulled maybe 2 of them could I say might be interpreted as offensive.
And as shown in the above spoilers some actually offensive stuff remains. I don't know I've made an imageshack account I guess I'll try over there as well.

Photobucket has never removed one of my images. It has just become a basterd, because it keeps becoming more restrictive - used to be 1Gb limit for free accounts, now its 500mb. I already had 2 full 1Gb ones, now I've gotta make even more

Yep, only used it a few times but never had any problems. They've got it in for you, man.

That first photo is pretty horrible, but strangely awesome, in a gory kinda way.

None of my pictures have been deleted. I just use it to store some epic or generally cool pictures I find on the internet. By the way that first picture is really creepy.

I suggest you go read the terms of service or something, actually look at maybe Why they're getting deleted.
Coming to a random forum makes little sense in all honesty.

I'm going to be frank and suggest it's probably something to do with the minors in the picture and the drug/sex reference.
