tbh, post count doesn't mean that much, I still recognise the frequent posters anyway, as would anyone who's been on here for any length of time.

I guess I kind of care in that I'm totally happy to post meaningless bullshit but that's more just for the sake of itself rather than post count. It's kind of a side-effect of liking to post a lot.

Post Count doesn't matter much. I only post if I have an idea of what I'm discussing and can give a good opinion. Unless it's a forum game, because posting in those will massively add to your post count and they can be a lot of fun.

At the same time, the people like Furburt and Neonbob may have a ridiculous post count but if you read the content of their posts, they are actually well formed rather than some crappy mishmash of a sentence thrown together to get that next post in.

Post counts are only numbers in my mind. They don't add weight to the words of posters, in my opinion.
Too bad that a bunch of people think that the higher the post count, the better and smarter they are.Like hell they are.

OT:I never really cared for post counts.I had been an Escapist user for about 7 months when I finally got 1000+.I wasn't all that much of poster in '08,I only made 3 posts in '08,but that doesn't make their points any less valid.

To answer your questions in order.

Where's the option for "I honestly don't give a fuck and Forum Gods don't exist?"
Seriously, I don't give a fuck about it.

As to whether I post just for the sake of raising it, no. Never have and never will do. It's just a number that indicates A) How active you are and B) ...How active you are.

Only in Off-Topic and Gaming Discussion. Forum Games would be boring if you only posted to have an opinion, and that is where I spend about 80% of my time when I'm here.

Am I a Forum God? Are Neon and Furb? No. Furb has admitted several times he isn't and he doesn't want to be known as one. As for Neon, he's well respected but I wouldn't say he is a God either. We are all the same here, nobody is greater then anyone else due to a number.

I consider it unimportant because it is unimportant. The only thing it I've seen a high post count bring is an impersonator and a lot of unjust and unneeded hatred on users.

Just my two pennies on the matter.

Surely a post count just shows how much time you waste here? It doesn't matter. I wouldn't care if they weren't shown on individual posts.

OT: I stopped caring about my posts after I hit 10k. That was the height of my pride.

EDIT: Holy crap I could pick that as an option! The OP is well prepared it seems.

I do enjoy my post count, as it comes with a nice Title.

I Post for fun, not just to raise my count.

I'm no Forum God, not by a Longshot.

I don't consider it important or unimportant, just... Nice.

I like to post on topics I'm able to give my opinion across in with some form of coherence, and ones where I'm versed on the subject.

My post count itself, though I admit it does look fun when I go up a hundred or even a thousand, is otherwise unimportant to me.

Post count both matters to me and yet I don't really care. Yes, it makes me feel a little better, but then I realise I've been here a little over 5 months and I have the 6th highest post count. If you don't recocnize me, it's because I spend about 99% of my time in Forum Games and user groups. Still, it's just a number and nothing that special. I wish they had a different count for user group posts so that you'd see the difference. And maybe a different one for Forum Games too.
And on the matter of if I post just to raise my post count, no. I may not be expressing my opinion in every post (since Forum Games aren't really about expressing opinions...), but I am having fun and made a lot of friends who are happy for me when I celebrate a number I reach, like yesterday when I reached 20K posts and we celebrated a bit, then continued with the game.
So, as a little advice, don't act as we with high post counts are forum gods or legends. We are just people with either too much time on our hands or have a lot to say.

Don't care, nor will I ever. I post if I have something to say, which I rarely do. However, I agree with those who would 'celebrate' a 1,000th post or some such.

I'm sort of obsessive about achievements and ratings but I won't post for no reason.

Why would some of the most active members of the community be called the scum of the site? seems ridiculous to me.

(Also, sorry about the double post, I really wish quotes would notify in an edit but alas they do not)

Some people think we're just here to get a high post count and bask in its glory.
