I don't see how anybody could hate the movie. Even for adults, it's so charming and charismatic that it's impossible to hate.

It's a decent kid movie. Not much hold for adults though.

"Good heavens. Are you still trying to win? You've got an overdeveloped sense of vengeance. It's going to get you into trouble someday."

I love that line.

There are so many classic, awesome, jokes in that movie. I haven't seen it in a while, but now I have a hankering to.

Even after seeing that movie about a thousand times, I still think it's great. I don't know what's not to like, I mean, it seems inconceivable, but to each his own I suppose.

Many years ago, while on a road trip with a friend, "The Princess Bride" came up in conversation, or rather, I quoted it only to receive a blank stare in response. Much to my disbelief, she had never even heard of the movie. For the next 2 and a half hours I told her the complete story, including names, scene decriptions, and proper voice imitations. She loved it and it was a great way to pass the drive. When we got back home she immediately went out and bought the movie, where it now lives among her alltime favorites.

"The Princess Bride" can be enjoyed by children, but not because it is childish. It is light-hearted, innocent, clever, and above all else, funny as heck. If you count "House of a Thousand Corpses" or "Jack Ass" among your top 5, than chances are it isn't your kind of movie. If, however, you've come to the mature realization that a movie can be fulfilling without gore and f-bombs, than watch "The Princess Bride." You won't regret it.

By the way, anybody want a peanut?

it had childish humor and wasn't entertaining
The male lead, Cary Elwes, would go on to be the voice of the Bard for "The Bard's Tale" remake.
Inconceivable

I watched it in year 7 and it was good then watching it now... my views havent changed it was a movies designed for the middle teen market, some adults just still have a small child-at-heart moment watching it.
