I'll admit to myself i have way too much time on my hands and i will quite frequently skip between link after link. I have recently found myself seeing amny people with a little comment here or there and then "This user was put on probation for ..." I find it almost impossible to resist to see what they were put on it for.

So i'm wondering, do any of you guys, or gals, check out why people have been put on probation?

Please, no reconstructions of the probation awarding action. I can only plea :)

EDIT: This is probation on the escapist forums, not in law terms :)

Yes. Firstly so I know what's probation worthy material. Secondly because it's usually funny.

I'm far too busy surfing the forums to bother trying to figure out why someone was probated, suspended or banned

Yes I do and sometimes I see its for a completely stupid reasons. And now excuse as I may now get flamed or messaged about something by a mod for saying something against them or something along the lines like that.

I once saw someone suspended for posting on a thread which insulted the mods. I didn't even bother clicking it. As long as it isn't obvious why, I'll click it. Sort of like Naming and Shaming Escapist Forum Goers.

Calumon: Mean, but I guess meanies deserve to be punished.

If it has something to do with politics, music (Why music? Because some people are elitists and it's fun to see the crap they spout on a thread while angry), or a video, I'll go look at it for a good laugh at a flame war or to see what they said about a video that could get them on probation.

Actually, that might put you farther into the bad books. You've got to "sprinkle in" the sucking up, don't say outright you're sucking up.

Although, it's cool to say outright that you're joking. And I'm joking.

Mostly yeah, partly to see what they screwed up with so I know what to avoid.

I do sometimes look. But only to keep trying to get a feel for the moderation so I can stay on the right side of the rules.

Each and every time I see that, I can't resist - it's like gawkers gathering around a trainwreck, I'm compelled to see what they did to attract moderator wrath. Then I take comfort in how I'm not them, ha ha.

The third thread on this in the last two days...

OT: Yes I do, especially if I know the person who faced moderator wrath.

Does anyone else refer to it as being "probed"? I can't be the only one...
That sounds like some sort of weird 'Weekend Activity' with aliens.

I always do, and sometimes I'm suprised. Especially with Yatzees reviews. The first three people to post automaticly get probation regardless of what they say, and after than it's 50/50 odds. I've seen people that said perfectly reasonable things and probation, and people that said absolutely nothing worthy of discussion and were ignored.
